Sundle: Golden Hour Planner

Sundle shows when and where the light will fall, right where you are. Plenty of apps tell you what time the sun sets. Sundle also tells you which direction the light comes from, where shadows will lie, and where the moon and the Milky Way will sit in tonight's sky. Today's light See where the sun is right now. The countdown to the next golden hour runs large, with the sun's direction and shadow length resting quietly underneath. Numbers on their own don't help much. Instead of "altitude 69.4°", Sundle says "shadows are shortest, 0.4x your height" — an angle means little to a photographer, but a shadow length means something. Light map The sun's direction and the shadow direction are drawn on the map. Slide through the day to see where the light will come from at three in the afternoon, so you can tell before you leave whether a building blocks it or you'll be shooting into the sun. In AR mode, point your phone at the sky and today's solar path is drawn over the camera view. Calendar Move through dates to preview golden hour and blue hour. Moon phase, moonrise and moonset, and the window when the galactic center is visible are all there — along with whether moonlight will wash it out. 64 spots Photography spots across Korea, each with its region, tags, and a short note. How open the horizon is in each direction is calculated from terrain elevation, so a sunrise trip doesn't end up behind a mountain. You can save your own spots by tapping the map. Reminders Sundle lets you know before golden hour and blue hour begin — anywhere from 10 to 90 minutes ahead. It's fine if you can't make it. Tomorrow brings another. Widgets and Apple Watch See the time to the next golden hour from your Home Screen and Lock Screen. As it gets close, a live countdown appears on the Lock Screen. The Apple Watch app works on its own, without your iPhone. Everything is calculated on your wrist. Accurate Sun calculations use the NOAA algorithm. Twenty-two verification tests check the results against published Korea Meteorological Administration values, such as the Seoul summer solstice sunrise at 05:11 and sunset at 19:57. No internet needed Every astronomical calculation runs on your device. It works the same in airplane mode or deep in the mountains. There is no account, no server, and your location is never stored or collected. (Apple Maps is used for one thing only: showing the name of where you are, at the top of the screen.
