About
Sunrise shows when the sun rises and sets where you are — and the times that matter for flying.
Built for pilots, student pilots and flight school operations, and beautiful enough for everyone.
WHAT YOU SEE
• Sunrise and sunset for your current location
• Civil twilight: BMCT and EECT (sun 6° below the horizon), the EASA / SERA day/night boundary
• In the Netherlands: UDP start and end (uniform daylight period, 15 minutes before sunrise to 15 minutes after sunset, as in AIP GEN 2.7)
• Solar noon and total daylight
• A countdown to the next event: "Sunset in 1h 12m"
• Local time or UTC in aviation style (0542Z) with one tap
• An optional reminder before UDP ends, also on your Apple Watch
ANY DATE
Scroll the date wheel, tap the arrows or swipe across the sun's path to plan a flight days or months ahead.
A SKY THAT FOLLOWS THE SUN
The whole screen follows the real position of the sun: deep blue night with stars, pink dawn, bright day, golden evening. The sun — or the moon at night — travels along today's arc.
APPLE WATCH
The next event, today's sun times and the pilot times on your wrist, plus a UDP complication for your watch face.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything is calculated on your device with the NOAA solar algorithm. No account, no sign-in, and your location is never shared with us or with advertisers.
Works on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Free, supported by a single small banner on iPhone and iPad.
For planning and information only. Not for operational use: always check the AIP and NOTAMs.
