At this point with AudioKit Pro, it’s whatever Matthew decides to release! Every app is Top Notch, great sounding and user friendly! These drums are sweet!!!
Not compatible with Drambo
Really cool app, but unfortunately it breaks saving in Drambo (tested on multiple devices). It will seem to save but will not actually generate a file. I lost an entire track, hours of work lost. I am not refunding in hopes it’s fixed and will rerate if it is.
Best analog drum machine
I grew up with drum machines. My first drum machine was a Kory DDM 110. Later I got the TR 505 and 626. I love the workflow of drum machine. This has that feeling it’s very inspiring and fun to use. I love the analog sound. It’s so much fun as a drum machine and not a vst inside a DAW. It sounds amazing with my LinnDrum. My roommate back in the day had a TR 606. He didn’t like it so he sold it I really like that machine and this app retains everything that’s cool about it while adding modern features like swing. For me it brings back what was fun about making music while still being able to be incorporated into modern music making system. I love the way you can tweak the sounds or create stems and add effects later. Something I could never do in the past. I got it at the 4.99 price but even at 14.99. I think it’s a bargain. It hits all the right nostalgia buttons for me. I will say this not a 808. That’s ok with me. The Super 606 has a distinctive analog sound all its own and it’s fun to play with. What more could you want for an instrument to inspires you. I hope it inspires you too.

With each new app, AudioKit and super-genius Matthew have exponentially improved the usefulness and accuracy of hardware recreations, but without slavishly clinging to the limitations of said hardware.

Fantastic fun, super intuitive, ultra inspiring. There’s a possible bug on the Blank Beat section, if the Tempo is turned right down to 10, it seems to keep reverting back to 10, no matter how high you try to set it. I would love some kind of user manual, not sure if there is one? That said, I love it. Yet another incredible AudioKit creation.

Analog Matthew Fecher does so much for musicians everywhere, so how can I not leave a glowing, positive review?
I haven’t gotten into all of the features of this yet (it was just released today), but listening to the audio, this is amazing! 🤩
And AudioKit is also amazing, for allowing developers to create these apps, so kudos to them, as well!
From what I’ve seen so far, this is advanced from the Roland 505 that I had back in the 1980s, in that you don’t just program in 16 steps (assuming 4/4 time), but you have an A section, then B, C, D, etc. in which to vary your beats without having to activate a different pattern — it’s all right there!
Seems to work well on an iPhone 14 — you can actually see stuff on the screen. I have yet to try it on an iPad.

Everything I’ve wanted in a virtual tr606 and then some: SO well equipped and designed for fast, fluid and expressive beats. Every time I thought “but can it..?” it does: Can the kick bOOM? Yes. Can we add a clap for the greater good? It’s there. Is it a 606 to rival all comers? IT IS. Do you need this? YOU DO.
