About

A metronome that plays real drum grooves as well as a click. Set a tempo, tap Play and practice. Super Time is for guitarists, bassists, drummers, pianists and singers. You don't need an account, and there are no ads. DRUM GROOVES - 140+ grooves built from recorded drums: rock, funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz, Latin, reggae, blues, country, metal, gospel and odd meters - Humanize adds the small timing and volume changes a live drummer makes, and Variation moves ghost notes and hi-hat accents bar to bar - Fills every 4, 8 or 16 bars THE CLICK - Timed on the audio clock, so it doesn't drift - Tap tempo, and tempo to a tenth of a BPM (93.4) - Nine click sounds, including woodblock, clave, ride and 808 - Click boost: Normal, Loud or Max, for a loud room - Tap a beat to accent it, again to mute it. Mutes are saved with the setup - Count out loud: 1 2 3 4, 1 e & a, or dance eights with a 5 6 7 8 lead-in TIMING - Output delay check for AirPods and Bluetooth headphones: tap along for eight bars - Gap Practice mutes bars so you can hear if you held the time - Show my timing marks each note the microphone heard early or late, such as "Back 23 ms late" - Speed Trainer raises the tempo by your chosen step every few bars - One- or two-bar count-in SETLISTS AND GIG MODE - Save songs with tempo, meter, sound and notes, then order them in setlists - Play live: a dark full-screen view with a large tempo, your notes, the next song and big buttons - Tempo and notes stay locked until you unlock them - A Bluetooth pedal moves between songs and starts the click - Stage view: a big beat and BPM you can read from across the stage TUNER - Chromatic tuner in Tools: note, needle and cents, reference 415 to 466 Hz - On headphones it listens while the beat keeps playing, and only while it's open RECORD ON IPHONE - Film yourself playing each part of a piece over your practice beat, one part at a time - Put two or four parts side by side in one vertical video, with level and reverb for each part in Mix - Plug in headphones so the click stays out of the microphone - Record comes with Pro, and the free trial includes it - Videos stay on your iPhone. SuperTime uploads nothing RHYTHM - Odd meters like 7/8, 5/4 and 12/8 - Subdivisions from quarters to 32nds, including triplets and sextuplets - Swing from straight to shuffle - Polyrhythm: 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and more. Hear each side alone or both, or chain them into a looping sequence DRONE - Hold a drone on any root note, chord and octave for scales, intonation and long tones YOUR PRACTICE - Practice Plan sets a daily goal in minutes, with an optional reminder - Each song keeps its tempo history - Export your practice log as CSV, or back up to a file PLAYING WITH OTHERS - Play together: phones on the same Wi-Fi share tempo, meter and start/stop once you tap Join on one and Accept on the other - Practice Circle shares one tempo, meter and count-in with other phones over the internet, using an invite code - Ableton Link keeps tempo and start/stop in sync with Live, Note and other Link apps - Home Screen widget, Lock Screen and Dynamic Island controls, Siri and Shortcuts SuperTime is a yearly subscription with a one-week free trial for new subscribers, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. All three include every groove and feature. Each subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your practice settings and history stay on your phone. The tuner and Show my timing listen only while on. SuperTime never saves or sends that audio. Practice Circle stores your display name and a participant ID on your phone. The Circle service handles timing and presence only while a live session is running. What's New in Super Time

2.0.27

November 3, 2026

Song maps. Lay out a song in sections, each with its own tempo and meter, then add rit., accel., holds and repeats. Practice and gig mode show the section and bar you're in, and maps travel with presets and setlists. Grooves play like a drummer. Tap Fill and it lands on the next downbeat. Switch between Main A and a busier Main B with a fill between them, and finish with an Ending. Count in on the kit's own hi-hat or sticks, and export a loop as WAV, M4A or MIDI. Polyrhythm takes up to four voices, each with its own sound, level, pitch, pan, mute and solo. Try 3:4:5:7. Turning a polyrhythm knob while it plays is smooth now, and changing a voice's sound no longer stops playback. Subdivision, swing and accents now change every groove.
