idk if i’m just not great at using the app but i haven’t found a way to achieve sounds like falls, rises, or ultra smooth legatos that i need for the type of music i’m producing.

Best Violin on iPad
I’ve tried a lot of Violin apps for Logic Pro and this one is the best so far! Incredible control over so many aspects of the violin.

I'm using Garage Band well Please update it
This is a request for additional updates on the use of Garage Band. 1. I can't control Velocity when I go inside Garage Band midi track. Only when you go into the app and adjust the sound, Velocity adjusts it, so only the whole works, not one by one. 2. The vibrato turns off when it changes to a midi screen, violin screen. First of all, please update these two. I'm looking to buy the rest of the string instruments (viola, cello, and contra base) when 2 are updated.

Great sounds, crippled by greed
I use IOS in my live guitar rig. I use it, for example, to play the solo in I Will Survive, which has a descending string run that starts at G4 and goes down to E2. It’s barely more than 2 octaves, but SWAM Violin refuses to play anything below the the G2. Why? Because to get those notes you need to pay another $30, for a different module.
The rationalization is that the violin can’t play notes that low, but this is *software*. They could make one instrument that covers the full range of my neck and sounds authentic at every point, perhaps even seamlessly transitioning between the timbre of the relevant instruments. It’s the same engine. No reason they can’t build meta instruments with bigger range than their physical counterparts, except that by breaking them up into small ranges of notes, they can excuse charging you more.

Works great
I use the swam violin and cello with my EWI 5000 as a midi controller. All I had to do for setup is select the EWI preset in the swam app,and it all worked. I have the audio output going to an audio interface and there is no detectable latency.

This really is one of the best iOS apps I have ever used. The sound is amazing. I do, however, think that it should be mentioned here that some of the advanced featured are locked and will be available at a later stage as in app purchases.

I can’t believe there aren’t a thousand glowing reviews yet.. do people still not know about this company? It’s NOT a sample library of 40gb worth of pre-recorded samples - it’s a faithful recreation of the accounting qualities of instruments in a small 10-20mb shell which YOU perform as you see fit. And there’s nothing out there that sounds better, IMO. Go YouTube some of their vids and prepare to fall in love in amazement.
You can use any decent midi controller with expression, but the real magic is with an MPE controller like the Roli seaboard. If you own one, you owe it to yourself to buy these. I personally own every single desktop instrument they offer, and I will steadily collect them here on iOS as well.

There are many errors compared to other instruments. Huge lag occurs and cuts out during use.

Breathtaking. This is shear beauty in an app. Getting these Swam instruments on iOS is taking iOS composition to a new level. Totally professional. Great company too, they sorted out an issue I had with their C trumpet straight away.
Crashed still observed and have report this during Beta Testing
Still crashed and cause ipad 8th gen to freeze on this situation:
- Playing the recorded midi in Cubasis 2 as auv3 and screen in full display for SWAM Violin.
- Only 2 tracks is playing, a piano and SWAM Violin during playback.
- Cubasis 2 cpu load is less than 40%.
- Occurence of crashed and freeze is every single time during playback when auv3 of Violin in full display. If screen not displayed, playback is okay.
- Playing the recorded midi in Cubasis 2 as auv3 and screen in full display for SWAM Violin.
- Only 2 tracks is playing, a piano and SWAM Violin during playback.
- Cubasis 2 cpu load is less than 40%.
