HORRIBLE .. again

Since it is the same as their first app, I can safely paste my review from that one:

It’s literally just the devanagari characters with a voice pronouncing them. Something you can get on youtube. Anything about “flash cards” and such is a straight lie. I tried canceling my trial and was told I’d be replied to in 48 hours. A week later and my credit card was charged for a year. KEEP THE MONEY. YOU CLEARLY NEED IT. USE IT TO MAKE A REAL APP.

Hi PrabhaTaraka, As you’ve mentioned in your review, you copied and pasted your review from the previous one. It would have been more helpful if you had also mentioned what you didn’t like and what you expected the app to be like. Apple handles the payment processing issue you mentioned. Therefore, it’s more convenient to contact them directly. Alternatively, you can manage payments and auto-renewals within your App Store’s Subscription Settings.

No sound

Sound doesn’t work at all on iPad. Looks like this app is only for phone because some other reviewer also mentioned that you have to increase ringtone volume. Sound works perfectly on other apps on same device but not in this app. Defeats the purpose.

Response from developer

We have updated the app's behaviour to play voice-overs in silent mode. The same issue was fixed almost two/three months back. Please check at your end and let me know.

Worst app ever!

Do not buy!

Nice app!

If anyone has an issue with sound, it’s because it uses the ringer volume and not the regular volume that every other app uses. Although that’s a bit strange, the developer was very responsive and solved my issue, and I am happy it is working, now.
It’s a very useful app! Thank you.

Excellent, but note correct usage.

I originally reviewed this app negatively as I did not use it correctly.

A short press on a symbol gives the pronunciation of that symbol. A long press opens up all the variations. This makes the app an excellent reference, and very valuable for someone learning Sanskrit without the aid of a tutor.

In summary, it does exactly what I wanted it to do.
