The most profound things in simple packages

I use this app as often as I can. I find it very relaxing and simple to use. There are levels to achieve which encourages you to practice often. Ok, it’s not going to teach you the ‘Yang short form’ Tai Chi or anything close to that. But anything that gets me on my feet is a winner with me. IMHO - it’s one of the best, most useful little apps on the store.

I love this app

First: this app isn’t a game. The levels are helping you find the pace of your movements. First, you start by holding the phone and looking at it. Then, you progress to holding the phone and not looking at it. Then you work up to slipping the phone in your pocket and swaying by audio feedback only. Gaining a level isn’t a reward; losing a level isn’t punishment. This is about teaching and training about finding the sway speed. Levels are really irrelevant.

Second: audio feedback is key. It will provide you with gentle reminders when you’re moving too quickly or too slowly. It’s normal to hear this feedback when you slip your phone into your pocket. It also happens if I try a new movement and I have to move to keep my balance. I’ll get a “you’re going to fast” maybe once or twice in a 20-minute sway session. It’s not a punishment if this happens, it’s just feedback.

Last: sway as long as time permits. Some days, I have 10 minutes to sway. If I lose a level, it doesn’t matter. Even at level 1, I can sway with my phone in my pocket for 15 minutes the next day. The levels only matter for beginners, not those who have the sway speed down.

buying by mistake

Hello.

I bought your app by mistake. Just wanted to make a screenshot, but Touch ID decided to buy the app. How can I return my money back? The app even doesn’t installed on my iPhone.

Looking forward to hearing from you
Thanx in advance

Please add iPhone X support 😘

Consistently constantly crashes

Crashes whenever you finish a session

Disappointing and unpractical.

I’m usually cautious before purchasing a pair-for app, but as a fan of ‘Pause’, I decided to give Sway a go. The first level one, which is suppose to help you with your attention, is just simply ridiculous. It has you waving your phone about in the air, which is neither practical anywhere outside your own home or particularly effective. While each of the ‘levels’ focus on a slightly different thing (focus, presence etc) you cannot access further levels until you complete the one prior. If this was an arcade game, that would make sense. But it’s not. It’s a tool to help the paying consumer relax. It should allow access to each of the setting as the user pleases and requires. My final advice is that, if you’re going to pay for a relaxation app, there are better alternatives out there.

One Major Flaw

Unfortunately, I love almost everything about this app and would be thrilled to use it as part of my meditation. The idea of focusing and calming through movement is quite appealing to me.

But.

It requires that you start with a couple of minutes, and then do it daily to “unlock levels” of longer meditation. If you miss a day, you’re knocked back down in time and have no control over this.

First, I’m not playing a video game and don’t want to unlock levels.

Second, and more importantly, I like to use a variety of meditation tools and styles and don’t want to commit to one app or practice every time. The fact that I can’t choose my own duration of meditation session is an absolute deal breaker for me. This is a useless tool for me that would be highly useful if I were able to make my own decisions about the length of my session.

Nice music and concept... but does not work

For some reason (technical problem?) it's not possible to step up from level 1 to level 2. The same message pops up every time: 'sway 3 minutes to reach the next level'.
Hope the app developers can help.

Schade 🥺

Portable Tai Chi

This app is very interesting. I have used it a few times since yesterday and I noticed it does help increase my attention and body awareness. I also feel relaxed (as if I got some dopamine release) afterwards.

I disagree with the negative reviews although I sympathise with them in a way, because Tai Chi can be very confusing at first. But I would say it is important to distinguish the app itself and the initial dislike of Tai Chi I sensed in other comments. The app in itself is excellent.

Innovative but outdated

Great app bu not updated for the iPhone X

Infuriating

I did day one, came back for day two and it had reset itself as if I never did day one. This is more frustrating than its worth.

iPhone X...

Please!! 🙏

请告诉我正确的摇摆方式

请告诉我正确的摇摆方式,不太会使用、容易识别不到!

Doesn’t work ever

I never got a chance to use the app, it never worked! And I payed for its download. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE.

Neat idea, App feels unfinished

App is useful, you finish one level, you move on to the next, making mind training a kind of challenge.

However, there are no real settings, the App writes Mindfulness data to Healthkit, but doesn't read it back, a shockingly common problem with Apps in this category, even the most popular ones. No way to contact the developer via the App, presumably this is possible via the developer page.

Hopefully some of this will be addressed in a coming update.

Crashes after completing Level 1 so never advances

Seemed like a good app, but after trying all week to get past Level 1 but on completing it crashes and starts again on Level 1? iPhone 8+ iOS11.1.2. Please fix and update or refund. App is useless and not what is advertised. Thanks.

Disappointing

There’s no metronome or rhythm to help you sway at the right pace, only loud jingles that mean you’re going too fast or slow. The window for acceptable swaying is too narrow and results in a frustrating experience, completely opposite to its purpose. I recommend the same developer’s other app, Pause. It’s somewhat better.

真是个xx应用

这个应用比起同开发者的另外一个应用pause 差多了,需要你一直来晃动手机才能进行下去,非常累人的一个操作!根本不能有效提升注意力!只能让你花精力去如何锻炼自己的手腕!
