Notifications do not work

It does not send notifications of new requests, when I open it I find tons over there. All are filled already because the app never sent me notifications, even when I allow notifications, contacting support team, switch to texts, nothing worked, this is the worst subbing app I ever had.

Logs me off!! 😔

This is so frustrating .. I am driving and j have to log in again? It’s not safe! Fix bug - can’t pick jobs. Already cheap low paying jobs.

Not Conducive to Employment

The way a person works is solely based on the notifications from the app. The desktop for some odd reason NEVER has accurate information.
Not having the app means lack of communication and information to work successfully. If the app is not working the subs are not working and will be penalized for failing to perform properly. I can’t contact Swing Education so not having a working app makes zero sense but Swing does not see this as an issue. Fix the app don’t blame the subs we are only as effective as you.

App crashing

Prior to update, I couldn’t see schools loading at al, it just stayed spinning trying to update. Now since the update, I literally cannot open the app. The app just crashes. What is the purpose of the app if I have to constantly go to the actual website to see requests or any new notifications. Please fix

Insufferable

Just saw the first listing of this school year that is relatively close by to me (not 1+ hour away with traffic) and the app failed to load the button to confirm when I clicked on the school. I closed the app to refresh and it continually crashed over and over again. Deleted the app, redownloaded, signed in, and the listing was (unsurprisingly) claimed.

Huge flaw in system

If the schools don’t like you for any reason, or if you unknowingly make a mistake, they will fire you on the spot (actually, they won’t say anything. But as you drive away, they will call Swing and tell them they never want to see you ever again).

Wouldn’t it be better if the disgruntled schools were to pull you aside and offer coaching, advice, etc so that you can grow as a teacher??!!

When schools fire you on the spot, not only are they hurting sub teachers wanting to earn a paycheck, they are also hurting themselves b/c in order to do sub teaching in California, at least 5 conditions must be met. You must have 1) flexible schedule 2) 30 day emergency permit 3) 4 year degree 4) completed sexual harassment training 5) and completed mandated reporter training.

How many Sacramentoans in my area can fulfill all 5 requirements listed above? Probably not many. Therefore, by firing sub teachers on the spot, these schools are not only hurting sub teachers wanting to earn, they are also hurting themselves; in other words, good luck finding a replacement!

If I could give zero stars I would

I used to sub with swing in the past and never had a problem- I would be paid on time and found work regularly- now my account hasn’t been updated—-I keep having all these ā€œprocessā€ issues so I haven’t found work- they made me reapply for some reason - I redid the background check and application and STILL nothing- not professional at all

waste of time

first month you get a lot of assignments and then you start to get one every week and you still have to open the app at 5 am to search for the assignment because the app doesn’t notify you.

Doesn’t show jobs in my area!

There’s supposedly a whole bunch of jobs in my area, however, I can’t see them. I email Swing to let them know that the only jobs I can see are an hour away, but they just tell me I’m not putting in the commute times correctly. Even when I change the commute times to 30 minutes away I still only get jobs 60-90 minutes away. I used to get jobs that were well paying also. Now the only jobs I see are very low paying. I have contacted Swing about this also, and they tell me it’s because I don’t have a teaching certificate! I do have a teaching certification, and Swing has it on file. Schools say they badly need subs, but I’m not seeing that they do need subs based on what I’m seeing on this app. I hope Swing fixes whatever is wrong with this app. I’ve had to quit working for them because of it.

Laggy, app crashes

There will be a job opening then app just kind of freezes and force stops. It’s like Instacart or Uber, you have to hurry up and accept any decent paid opportunity. Or it’s gone in a matter of seconds.

Please update the speed

Loading takes too long. Whenever I see a job, it takes about a minute to refresh or move onto next page. Especially in the morning. When the page is finally refreshed, the job is gone. Haven’t been picking up an assignment due to its lag.

Do not download, just rely on text notifications

Swing education is a great freelance service and company, let’s start there. The issue is the app simply doesn’t work properly. If it’s not skipping notifications (and losing you money in the process) it’s freezing and getting stuck on the loading page. When a school opens a sub request, you honestly have a matter of minutes to grab it before someone else does. That’s what makes it extremely frustrating when notifs don’t go through, or when you can’t even get access to your open requests page. Long story short just use the swing edu website and make sure your sms text message notifs are turned on. Don’t bother with the app it’s honestly unnecessary.

Doesn’t notify

Honestly it’s so annoying how you miss job opportunities because the app does not notify you when there’s a request but when you open it there’s a ton of request, so how can you see a good job opportunity if the app doesn’t notify you because by that time somebody already got that position or filled that spot

Pay

Very low pay, an embarrassment for educators. App does not update quickly. It lags, and you can’t dismiss jobs that you are never going to take because they pay 18 dls an hr! We are people with degrees! We could make 18 dls at … yep. You got it.

Needs improvement

It would be great if I can see requests that match my availability.. I’m not available today yet I’m seeing requests for today.. search filters don’t work either.

Needs improvement

It keeps force quitting when I try to open it

Filter by pay

Schools will book with a teacher and then cancel the gig and repost at a lower pay and continue doing this until they drive hourly rates down. The app doesn’t offer a way to sort by pay rate and I think until they do (and until ā€œswingā€ as a company stops nickel-and-diming their substitutes and forcing them to clock out for unpaid 30 minute lunches that usually don’t happen), the set up will be predatory towards substitute teacher employees just trying to survive. Please hold them to a higher standard and protect your employees

Notification Issues

This app has issues with its notifications. I do not receive any notifications for anything I am interested in. When I do get a notification it is only for multi day assignments which I am not interested in. I have my preference set to single day so it makes no sense. I am losing out on opportunities because I am not getting notified.

Can’t see requests, can’t cancel, slow loading speed

The app doesn’t work. Subs cannot see requests, they cannot cancel requests, loading time takes forever and is very frustrating. UPDATE 1/26 App is very slow and doesn’t load half the time. It’s just stuck on the image with the girl raising her hand, or open requests page and just loads for several minutes! Notifications are not always sent to me of new and opened requests! Very buggy! Needs a lot of work

2/1 - still not receiving any notifications!
