About

Tap a piece and it turns ninety degrees on its hinge. If the arc it sweeps through is empty, the piece swings free and leaves the board. If anything stands in the way, it holds. Clear the board and the level is done. That is the entire rule. Everything after it is arrangement. SwingOut is a puzzle about letting things go, one piece at a time. No timer counts down, no daily quest expires, no energy bar refills while you wait. Nothing hurries you. The Board Opens Slowly 100 levels, every one of them solvable, because we checked all 100 before we shipped. The first boards teach the rule in about ten seconds. Then they start asking real questions. After a few levels you stop looking at the pieces and start looking at the empty space, because empty space is the only thing that lets anything move. You learn to read a board backwards: which piece has to leave last, which one is quietly blocking three others. Every tenth level swings the other way. Everything turns counterclockwise, and the map in your head has to be redrawn. Further in, you meet pieces that need two turns to get out, so you have to open a path for a move that has not happened yet, and the boards themselves grow. Stars For A Clean Line Each level starts with three lives. A blocked move, one the board will not allow, costs a life. Finish with no blocked moves for three stars; one blocked move leaves you two, and two leaves one. If the lives run out, you can watch a short video to keep going, or simply start the level over. Nothing has to be bought back. 300 stars in all, with 20 achievements behind them that track how you play rather than how long you grind. If a board stops making sense, one free hint per level points at a piece you can still move. Put the phone down in the middle of a level, come back tomorrow, and the board is exactly where you left it. Made To Be Held Warm pastel color on cream, soft rounded pieces with a little depth to them, and a rounded typeface that never raises its voice. Six themes come with the game, Classic, Sunset, Mint, Lavender, Ocean and Midnight, and you can change them whenever you like. The sound was made the same way: a kalimba loop underneath, small wooden-toy clicks for the turns, a light haptic tap under your thumb. All of it can be switched off in settings, so the game is quiet enough to play next to someone sleeping. What Is And Is Not In It No pop-ups. No banners. Nothing interrupts you between levels. The only advertising in the game is a short video you can choose to watch when you want three more lives or another hint, and it never plays unless you ask for it. Nothing is for sale. There is no account, no sign-in, and no email address. The game itself plays offline, on a plane or on the subway; only that optional reward video needs a connection, and it is served by our advertising partner. Your progress is kept on your device.
