Steaming Pile, Don't Bother
I'm running the demo adventure tonight and thought ok "I'll spend $2.99 on top of the other piddly price tags they've put in this game if it means things will go smoother".
The app crashes like crazy. I opened it up and scanned the demo adventure. Crash. I then "purchased" the free demo adventure in game and then scanned. Ok that worked!
The demo adventure has many foes but the scan only added the mooks and not even a correct number of them. So I started manually adding the named foes. There are 3 of the same name! Picking any of them... guess what... crash.
This is not something that will make your game run smoother, in fact it'll be the opposite. You're better off with paper and the tracker they provide. Hopefully this isn't a sign for what this actual game will be like (I've noticed it's basically vanished into the swirling pile of dead-old games that most games fall into)

Nope
Crashes literally every time you scan a QR code
So close…mostly great!
This app is a great tool and timesaver, but it’s got a real learning curve. Definitely test it out extensively before running a game with it. One MAJOR problem to keep in mind: the game only tracks your primary attack, so if you make a secondary attack, this app will still use your primary skill on it. You can work around this by imposing a penalty, but it’s a drag and the app itself doesn’t make this clear.
I hope the developers fix this bug and clean up the U.I. of this a little bit. Then this will be essential.

Missing vital elements
If all you're looking to do is run fights with normal mooks or a handful of named NPCs, this app might help. However, I've been unable to create my own named NPCs, and I can find no way of 'activating' schticks so that they influence the fight. If you want to use any schticks at all, active or passive, you have to factor them into the calculations manually, which can be impossible if they require spending shots and other resources like Chi.
It's so close to being potentially brilliant, but in its current state I find it pretty much useless and a waste of money. This makes me very sad, as everything else about the game is amazing.

Fantastic
So far so good! Hopefully they add more but it's very intuitive and useful to keep track with.
Disappointingly Buggy
I've played the game twice and plan to run tomorrow. But I don't plan to use the app. The window for naming sessions, fights, people and such doesn't work. Lots of typos. Uninspired presentation of roll results. Schticks don't appear to be programmed. A lot of work to set up. I do like that the archetypes are programmed. All in all an amateur app that won't add to the play experience.

Not perfect (yet), but an awesome start
This is what an RPG app should look like. Simple "character generator" (as you would expect from Feng Shui 2), great combat manager, and amazing integration with published material (the use of QR codes is genius). Still some rough edges (I can't find the "settings" button, the "shopping cart" doesn't seem to do anything, a few other small complaints), but this app has the potential to become one of the best RPG accompanying apps I've ever seen. Definitely a must buy.

Great tool
This app will be a great tool for the Feng Shui 2 GM. Let the app do the work and focus on fun. It is simply a gorgeous app. It has a few issues typical of an initial release that keep it from being 5 stars. When those are resolved, my rating will go to 5 stars.
Fighting the Chi War just got easier
Feng Shui 2 is fresh off the presses. It's a great RPG, full of action and cinematic fights. Tracking things in combat can be a little tricky, though.
Sylvan Master takes on a lot of that tracking, figuring initiative and turn sequence, tracking wound points, and keeping things straight so you can concentrate on evocative descriptions of the crazy fight action.
The app comes loaded with the stats from the intro adventure from the rulebook, divided into the three fight scenes. Stats from other published adventures can be loaded by scanning QR codes in those adventures, and you can manually add stats for home-brew adventures, as well. Loading player characters is quick and simple.
You don't need this app to run Feng Shui 2, but you'd be insane to not use it if you've got it available. It's great.

Brilliant RPG app
Well other RPG systems take note ... This is the way you develop and design a companion app for your systems... Awesome a thing of rare beauty
