In-app purchase not working

Works great except that the In-app purchase does not work.

Simple photo app but could be better

The app is a good photo frame app but I would like to see 2 options added,

1. I have my frame in landscape mode. I like having 2 portrait photos side by side but I would like an option to make the borders around the photos black, instead of white.

2. All of the photos are zoomed in, to fill the screen/frame. Imho, it would be really helpful would be to have the option to display the whole photo or the current zoomed in option. Currently, any photo that has wider dimensions are cut off on both sides.

Bought pro

Hi I have paid for the pro version but I have no way to download pictures that are on my iPad, any help would be appreciated.

Currently the best photo frame app

Great photo frame app: no tracking, can do two portrait photos side by side in landscape, single purchase instead of sub, integrates with Photos app. Only wish is if it could have a simple digital clock in a corner, or maybe even clock plus local weather, or clock + calendar, or some mix. Think Pixel tablet when docked.

Poor

Rubish

Love it. Simple answer with no subscription

I sometimes want a digital picture frame, but I didn’t want to go buy one. Right now, it’s not something I want to have on/around all of the time. I do have an iPad Pro (large one), so I thought I’d try an app. A Popular Science article brought this to my attention, and I liked the pricing model (one time a cost, which was less than some of the subscriptions I saw own other apps). Set up was simpler. I chose to give the app full access, but I’m only using one album. I like the along timer options. This is an example of do one thing, with settings that are a complex enough to meet the needs, but no more complicated than that.

Excellent

Works as a digital photo frame wonderfully. Would love to see support for live images (maybe on long press?) and potentially videos (maybe just a still then tap to view?). Would give it 5 stars for that.

Photos not displaying. Stuck on a white screen with a “Get Pro” ad

What gives? I selected a small album to start with.

Response from developer

Hey, did you make sure to add the required permissions? It sounds like you selected only a partial access to your photo library. it needs access to all to display the albums correctly.

Confusing order of pictures

I tried listing several albums, but the app randomly shows pictures from different albums instead of showing them in order from first one folder and then the next in line. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I’ve taken grandkids on many trips. My trip photos are in different folders. If I list the various folders, I want the program to show ALL of the pictures in a folder before moving on to the next folder.

Fix this major FLAW and you’ve got a really great piece of software! As is the program is a major disappointment. Who can understand jumbled pictures!

AND, I don’t want to have to build a master folder with all of the pictures I want to use — too much work. I’d rather work with separate trip folders.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your feedback! I just released an update where you can change the order to creation date instead of random. You’ll find it in the slideshow settings. Hope that helps :)

A Very Good Solution

My 7-year-old photo frame died and I wanted something better than the built-in slideshow app, not to mention the solutions that use the Apple accessibility feature, Guided App (which ultimately uses the built-in slideshow function too).
I came across Re-frame and gave it a try.
It's very simple and just works. Besides much better resolution and power consumption than regular photo frame, it's much cheaper (assuming you have an iPad already.) I'd love if it had some transition effects and a cool motion detector so we could let it shut off when not in use and then wake up when someone walks by.

However, I don't miss those features any more. What Re-frame does have is a timer so you can set the time you want it to be awake. That works fine. Also, it has a sweet feature that determines whether a photo is horizontal or vertical. And can adjust to the iPad orientation—landscape or portrait. It even suggests which orientation to use, based on the majority of photos in your album for best viewing experience.
Depending on how you set your iPad, either the vertical images (portrait) will display individually and the horizontal (landscape) images will display two-to-a screen or the opposite if you use the different orientation. Don't let the previous sentence confuse you. In use, this is obvious and actually, automatic.

My previous frame had the ability to receive images of my granddaughter emailed from my daughter. You can use a shared album (read about it in the Apple website if necessary) to accomplish the same thing.

Especially when I factor in the image display quality, I am completely satisfied with this app. Plus, you've got an iPad in your den or living room if you need to check your email.

The App is a little short on instructions, but not hard to figure out with some experimentation, and the developer has a good reputation for being responsive, according to the reviews here.

Works flawlessly

Happy to pay once for an app that works so well.

Just what I was looking for.

I was looking for a simple, non-subscription, doesn’t require an account, non-privacy invasive app to turn an old iPad into a digital picture frame. This one checked off all the boxes. When the app is first launched it is a bit confusing what you’re supposed to do. Once you understand how it works it is simple to use. In my case I needed to create an album in the Photos app. This app needs to be connected to an album to work properly.

I reached out to the developer with some comments and he responded right away. With how well everything worked (and the responsive developer) I was happy to pay to access the full (non-demo) version of the app. Money well spent.

Doesn’t work well

Poor instructions. Photos in a an album don’t change on time. Nag banner in the middle of the picture. Also for what it is, it’s overpriced.

Nice App

A good way to put your old iPads to use!

Nine to see some old photos that we had forgotten about.

I would love to have even quicker display times (minimum is 1 minute at present)

Re-Frame

Very very slow. No apparent directions for how to use. Can’t get this thing to work, except to send money to remove banner which I never could see. What photos I did see were ridiculously blurry. Going to delete the app today.

Response from developer

Can you please send a support email to reframe@florianvates.com? I'll happily help you sort out your issues. Is it possible that you have quite a large amount of photos in your iCloud library? If you keep seeing blurry pictures, it might help to choose the option to save iCloud photos on your device. I'm currently working on a fix for this but it seems like in some cases Apples Photo SDK just can't load some images, especially if it's a large set of images.
