Syncster GPS Status

GPS Status shows the direction you face, how accurate your position is, and how many navigation satellites are above you, on one screen. COMPASS • A card that turns as you do, with the heading in degrees and as a point of the compass • True north once your position is known, magnetic north until then • How far off the compass may be, in degrees ACCURACY • The accuracy of your position in metres, as your device reports it • A plain word for it: excellent, good, fair or poor • Altitude with its own accuracy SATELLITES AVAILABLE • How many navigation satellites are above your horizon now • A count for each system: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou • Worked out from the published orbits of the satellites, your position and the time POSITION • Latitude and longitude to five decimal places • Speed and course when you are moving GOOD TO KNOW • Works offline: the app carries satellite orbits with it, and fetches newer ones from CelesTrak when you are online • iPhone and iPad, upright or on its side, in light and dark • No account, no advertising, no tracking. Your location stays on your device iOS does not tell apps which satellites its receiver is using. The count is of the satellites available above your horizon, which a receiver under a clear sky can pick up; buildings, hills and being indoors hide some of them. Do not rely on this app for navigation where safety depends on it.
