Has problems
This app is really great and has so much potential, but the problems it has almost make it unusable. However, the developer has a fundamental misunderstanding of time signatures as well as tempo. The 6/8 measures really function as 3/4 in both subdivision and tempo (automatically uses 1/4 note for tempo with no way to change to dotted 1/4 note). Additionally, the app will not run unless notifications are turned on before starting the app. Wish I hadn’t spent the $8 on this

Notifications
I have notifications turned off for this app. There is literally nothing it needs to notify me of.
Upon doing this, I receive a prompt about my disabled notification every time I open the app. When I click cancel and try to proceed, the app doesn’t open. What a joke.

Not worth it
Why would you make an app that you have to pay for, then have in-app purchases. Maybe you should have it come already with certain packs therefore it doesn’t feel as greedy. Also, you should be able to have flams and fiddle on certain notes. 6/8 is only set up for 2+2+2 where sometimes you really need 3+3 so you can edit one of that triplet.

Cost cost cost
Have followed Synkd on instagram for a while now and been waiting to justify the $13 AUD to buy it. I have purchased and can make my own chains, however was disappointed to find out that then it cost around $3 -$10 on top to purchase additional chains. A $13 upfront charge plus additional costs for the packs is a bit steep in my opinion.

Please update to add stickings and larger/more complex tuplets!
Great app, just desperate for an update
Keeps Crashing
When I play or edit a measure within a chain. Really frustrating
Please continue making improvements!
I began transcribing rudiment books like stick control and syncopation with this to allow the app to teach me how these rudiments should sound. I love this app. It crashes frequently- I would absolutely love the syncing to cloud to be a little easier to understand (and the restore and backup functions do not work for me) but the email works however very time consuming.
Please improve UI! allow for multiple lines or increase/decrease of visual notes. I love this app. Please continue it.

Don’t buy
Cheap metronome that want to sells you presets
Sticking
One thing that I would really like to see in this app is the ability to mark each note as either a left or right hand note. Other then that, great app.
Heard great things but
I would love to test this app. I hear nothing but good things about it. However when I attempt to download the D’addario free pack it crashes immediately. Running latest OS on iPhone X.
Good but expesive
Great app but the extra chains do not add much for being 2 dollars each.
Stockings?
Cool app, but it would be useful to be able to add in stickings
Awesome!
This the most sophisticated metronome app out there! I am having so much fun with it and I find it extremely useful.
My ONLY complaint is that I am unable to keep the app going while taking a video with my phone. I often use other metronome apps this way so I can re watch the video and take a better in depth look at my timing. If you guys could find a way to add that perhaps in an update that would be stupendous.
Other than that it is a fantastic app & useful tool I’d recommend to any musician

Great app but needs additional functionality!
This is a great practice tool for any musician with any instrument. The only problem is that it doesn’t have a lot of customization so if you need help play complicate rhythms, you might want to seat elsewhere. For example, you cannot customize the subdivision of an individual beat. You just choose from a bunch of choices. So if you have two 16th notes with a 32nd triplet, you wouldn’t be able to input that rhythm because it’s not one of the options. Great app with a major flaw!

Great for creating custom click tracks
This app is seriously great. I’m a professional percussionist and play a lot of music that changes meter. You can basically create a custom click track for any piece of music.
The one thing that would make this really perfect for me (and others who will use this as a custom click track creator) is if it was possible to change the tempo within a chain. On top of that, an option to accel/ritard to new tempos would be amazing. Hope to see that in a future update.

Don’t fully understand time signatures
This is very close to being the best thing on the market. But it became obvious that you don’t totally understand time signatures. The lack of dotted rhythms and adjusted subdivisions during compound meter makes this app very ordinary. If you’re in compound meter you should be able to control each 8th note instead of each quarter note. Also, you count off needs to be adjusted so that it reflects the time signature. Close but missing significant basics. If you look at the “tempo” app you could learn how compound meter works and apply to your app!

LOVE LOVE LOVE..but
Great app, does everything you want it to do. A little slow, some crashes, plz fix. Also, can you add tenuto marks, I mean this is a met not a score writer, but I actually use it as a score writer, and it works well as that. So plz add tenuto, thank you! And people reading it, especially percussionists, get this app. 👍

Amazing!
Love it! I use it every day. I've had most of my percussion students get it as well. You must have the most current iOS though, as any older devices won't work properly- iPod touch 5 etc...
A must have for ALL musicians, especially Drummers
I own many different metronome apps, making me somewhat of a metronome enthusiast, but after one of my favorite drummers mentioned he uses, Synkd, I immediately purchased it from the App Store, and I'm so glad I did.
Before Synkd, I would simply set a specific BPM and begin playing along while reading my rudiments. Now, I'm able to not only set the BPM, but I can customize beats within bars all while using different time signatures and subdivisions in the same "Chain." This is so helpful because it means you can input all of your note values and practice without having to focus on reading. You can also change accidents on specific stems within beats. Also, if your fellow musicians have Synkd, too, you can easily share your chains with them. This feature makes writing music and collaborating a breeze! The list of features goes on, but I'd thought I'd highlight just a few.
Coming from an experienced musician (drummer) who has purchased many apps to aid in my improvement, I can confidently say that Synkd is not only the most advanced app for musicians--specifically drummers--but also the most effective. Using this app properly will surely improve your playing!
I hope this review helps aid you in your decision whether or not to purchase the app. Cheers!

Doing What No Other Metronome Can Do
What sets this metronome apart from others is that you can customize the beat frequency. This allows you to have a beat for every note rather than just for the actual beat. For example, instead of having 4 beats in a song with 4/4 time you can have 1(quarter note) beat then 2(eighth note) beats then 2(quarter note) beats with the metronome ticking for each note played with rests getting no beat. IMO. Worth any price they ask.
