To set the record straight: Taalhammer has never offered live classes, and nothing in the app depends on them — it's built entirely for self-study. We suspect this review may have been meant for a different app. Progression in Taalhammer comes from the Core courses, which take you level by level, with spaced repetition scheduling what you review and when. Could be excellent
The second sentence is so wrong, I had a hard time believing my eyes. Novice German language learners can spot it. The creator of the app clearly did not do the proper quality assurance with a native speaker. I found other mistakes too and reported them.
If these issues are fixed, this would be a great app that uses the efficiency of the Glossika method, but without the random sentences and the audio quality issues that plague Glossika.
I’m looking forward to an error free version of Taalhammer for German.

Thank you for the precise example and for reporting the errors you found — that's exactly what helps. Since then we've been correcting the beginner content continuously. Hidden Gem Language App
The method here is cool - they use SRS with sentences, not just individual words, so you get more context and are more likely to memorize and use the words.
They also begin to combine sentences you’ve memorized into short stories you can play on the go, reinforcing what you've learned.
They're adding tons of new features, have more languages than other apps, and a simple interface.
You can even use AI to build custom decks based on your preferred topics.
Overall, it's one of the best ways to learn - and I've tried almost every app out there.
This is probably the only language learning app that doesn't need to be combined with other apps to be complete.
