Excellent App - Can’t Stand the Badge Counter

Great app that does exactly what you expect without much annoyance. I do hate the red badge counter on the icon badge in the the tool bar, it’s visually loud and distracting. I can remove the button from the toolbar, but then I loose the ability to click in and see the extensions activity.

I would really love if a toggle for the badge counter on the icon was available in the extension settings. It would be 5 star at that point.

Response from developer

Thanks! Honestly, I like seeing the number of sleeping tabs on the button, but I can see how it gets distracting. So the update coming this week adds a switch for it in the extension's Settings. I appreciate you taking the time to suggest it. If anything else comes up, there's a contact form in the app, under Help: "Write to me".

Makes a huge difference

Not having a bunch of tabs still using CPU and RAM makes life so much more easier on a 8-16GB ram Mac, especially the 12" MacBook and M1 MacBook Air without active cooling (fans).

can't recommend anymore

Using for a while but now somehow i lost all my susbended tabs because they just got emptied...

Loses tabs and high CPU on M1

Loses tabs that are suspended when extension is disabled. Was using 30% CPU on M1 Mac.

Good App, but... How about a warning?

I've been using this for a good while and it mostly has worked well. However, for the second time, it failed to open about 50 of my previously open tabs!
I just updated to Catalina, from Mojave, and then discovered this mess. I see that the developer mentioned in his response to a different review, that if you update to Safari 14, you need to first unsuspend all your tabs, or they will be unable to open on their own. Great, HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS?

I definitely don't like finding about precautions I needed to take, AFTER the damage has been done...

Response from developer

Hello, Sorry you are having issues with the Tab Suspender. The extension displays a warning in Safari 13 instructing users to unsuspend before updating to Safari 14. If you did not see that warning then some glitch might have prevented it from showing. Safari 14 unexpectedly breaks the suspended tabs. I have reported it already to the Safari team, but I have no control over it and no fix is possible from my side. I can only display the warning I mentioned earlier. If you contact me via the contact form, I can provide a way to recover those tabs you lost. Thank you and apologies again for this issue
