Tabs Saver for Safari User Reviews

Top reviews

Free version only saves one tab!

What a waste of time installing this if I can only save 1 webpage.

Response from developer

Dear user, Thank you for your review, I'm taking notes of all of them. The app is free for testing, but to fully use it, you can upgrade to Pro - you can find this info in the app description, also. You can also send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu, and I will gladly provide you with more details. Regards.

Garbage Software

This app claims to sync through iCloud and this is not true. I saved a session on my iPad Pro and it did NOT show up on my MacBook Pro using this junk. No sync button to force it manually, really? For as much as your asking to be paid that should a no brainer. I honestly wish the App Store was 10 times tougher on developers so we could get rid of garbage software like this. A time waster for something that should work so simply. Disgusted to say the least.

Excellent Session management

I've long used another browser's version of this sort of thing. I'm glad I could find it's equivalent for Safari.

Update

The developer helped me to make this work. I stand by my comment that it took a long time for him to get back to me, but it really is a good app!

Response from developer

Dear user, Thank you for your review, I'm taking notes of all of them. Just uncheck the "Close saved windows" option and the browser will not close anymore. Send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and provide me more details and for sure we can find a solution. Regards.

Privacy

I work in tech, i have tons of tabs open all the time. I work in tech, so I run my safari in private mode. ;-) This is a great extension to help me with that type of workflow. It offloads my history to something local that i control and restore, without sharing with anyone or being tracked or sold as a commodity. Exactly what i was looking for: helpful, convienent, and private. The cost is minimal for what you get in return IMO.

Perfect tool for Online Research

I have to keep a lot of tabs open for work, all of which I'm actively using. But this can quickly overload the memory, and things start to crash and underperform. Normally, I'd have to close everything and then reopen to get performance back under control. Now, I can just save all my tabs with one click, close Safari completely and reopen it all just as easily. Also, if I need to reboot or work a project over a few days, I can keep all my online research for the next day without having to leave it open on my computer. Great tool.

Genius App

This is without a doubt an underrated app. It removes the friction of having to worry if whether or not you'll lose your tabs because Safari can be very unreliable when it comes to keeping a history of your information when it crashes. 100% worth the money. Hope the developer is still active in updating it.

pinned tabs not saved

Response from developer

Dear user,Thank you for your review, I'm taking notes of all of them.Pinned tabs are not saved because those tabs are already bookmarked into Safari, right? You can also send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and I will gladly provide you with more details.Regards

Wonderful Tool! Just Needs Some QoL Improvements

This has been an impeccable extension for me, especially as a college student who has all these research tabs open, with no way to recover them if the Safari window closes. Having this extension makes it so easy to simply save the tabs and come back to it later without having a permanent Safari window open all the time! Seriously, an amazing tool and definitely worth the price.

That being said, I would love for the ability to name the tab collection when you save them or at least an option to rename them from the extension mini-menu. When I was first using this app, I had no idea that you could rename tab collections, and so all I had were a list of "5 Tabs," "6 Tabs," and "3 Tabs," with no idea which one was the session I wanted without having to go in and check what the specific tabs were. Otherwise, this is a a great extension! A must-have.

Dear user,Thank you for your review, I'm taking notes of all of them. The new 3.0.0 version introduced this option: rename before saving the session, directly from the popup. Just upgrade to this version when ready and you are good to go.You can also send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and I will gladly provide you with more details.Regards

Amazing app!

This is an amazing app—I do a ton of research on Safari, and I would be completely lost without this. I often save sessions of 100 tabs, and the Auto-Save ability has saved me many times when Safari crashed and I needed to be able to bring up the list of tabs without reloading every page. A

Great tool, could be even better

Would be great if the "folder" concept can be extended to allow saving multiple sessions. Let the user save different sets of Safari windows and tabs into "named set" or "folder". Also would be very helpful to allow deleting an entire "folder" once feature to save as such is available. This is the same functionality that exists in Firefox session manager add-on (Tab Mix Plus) or in Chrome Session Buddy.

HELP?!

I have written to the developer and haven't received any response so I'm posting here. I've created folders but they disappear, the only folder that is available says "any folder". How do I move files into folders? Also, why are the folders disapperaring, where are they? I have no need for this app if the files aren't organized, defeats the whole point.
Please get back to me, think I would like a refund.

Response from developer

Dear user, Thank you for your review and sorry for these misunderstandings. To add a folder (and sessions to it), near any session just select the "Create new folder.." from the dropdown. If you already have a folder created, just select the folder you want from the same dropdown menu. Why do folders "disappear"? Actually folders with no sessions inside are not displayed, if you have a folder with at least one session, that folder can be used to add other sessions inside, of course.Hope this helps. You can also write me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and I will gladly provide you with more details. Hope this helps.

Excellent functionality, keeping track of tabs

I used OneTab on Google Chrome for years, and decided to switch to Safari last year to take advantage of all the integration with my other Apple devices. Tabs Saver provides the functions I expected, and more that I hadn't even considered. Tab Saver quickly became an integral part of my browser usage.

Very good but one need to pay attention to this

Not sure if this is by design or just a “bug”, but I had rebooted my computer a few minutes before installing Tab Saver. When I opened Safari, it came back with lots of windows and, inside each window, lots of tabs that I wanted to save.
When i ran the first test, I realized that Tab Saver saves only the tabs that are “active” again, meaning only the tabs that I have accessed again after rebooting. All others are left behind, even though they are there, in a Safari window.
I know this is a minor detail, but one can surely think that everything has been saved by Tab Saver when it actually hasn’t.
For someone like me who loves piling up windows and tabs, it is an issue that I would like not to pay attention to.

Other than that, it seems to be a great app, indeed.

Dear user, Just upgrade your Safari (or your macOS) to the latest version and this problem will be gone, it was a limitation of older versions of Safari. You can send me an email to hello@alexdenk.eu and for sure I can help. Regards

Life Saver!

I am a business owner and spend all day on the computer researching and reading and searching for things. I have had a minimum of 20 tabs open for months now and am always afraid of losing my tabs. Most of the time, I don't even shut my computer down for that reason. This app is a game changer! Within 30 seconds, I saved all my tabs into several organized groups and was able to close dozens of tabs I had been leaving open. I already feel more organized, confident, and less stressed. Thank you! So worth the few dollars.

Very happy I found this app!

I have been needing an application like this for Safari tabs for such a long time. I discovered this app when buying the Page Screenshot app for Safari. Both of these products have increased my productivity and made my life so much easier. Thank you! This is great!!

Awesome app... needs just a few more features

THANK YOU for an awesome app.

I have three feature requests:

1. Ability save just one specific tab you are viewing instead of having to save the whole window every time.

2. Can you add a way to "LOCK" a session so it cannot be deleted without unlocking it, and links do not get removed from it when opening them?

3. Can you add a delete confirmation when using the "X" next to the session name in the shortcut icon in Safari?  It's too easy to delete and lose everything without confirmation.

Reqest multiple windows saved feature

I really like this app, but there's one missing feature that I would love to have which is saving/restoring multiple windows' tabs as a session. Please implement this feature. Thank you very much.

Response from developer
