What's New in Tachbase

2.3.2

August 7, 2026

• All-new street basemap — crisp vector street maps for the whole country, day and night, sharp at every zoom. Included in your offline state downloads, so the base map stays detailed with no signal. • Airport diagrams, right on the map — taxiways, runway numbers, aprons, and helipads draw on the moving map as you zoom into any airport — including thousands of fields the FAA publishes no diagram for. • Pick your map layers (Pro) — choose which layers download with your offline coverage (high-res base map, VFR, IFR Low, IFR High, overlapping IFR panels), see each layer's size up front, and turn one off to reclaim the space. Adding a layer fetches just that layer — nothing re-downloads. • Routes ATC actually assigns — the Route Finder's recently-cleared ATC routes now parse completely: SIDs, STARs, and radial fixes are recognized, every FAA fix resolves, the preview draws the whole route, and applying one loads the procedures with their published legs on the map. • File the RNAV routes you plan — flight plans with RNAV SIDs and STARs now file with Flight Services. Set your aircraft's PBN capability once in the Hangar, and Tachbase includes the equipment and PBN codes Leidos requires — and warns you before filing if a procedure needs RNAV capability your aircraft isn't set up for. • Pick which chart is on top — where IFR enroute sheets overlap, a chip on the map names the chart you're reading and lets you bring another one forward, so detail hidden under a neighboring sheet is one tap away. On the sectional it's how you show or hide the Terminal Area inset for where you are. • A clearer Downloads page — a one-line status strip shows the current chart cycle, what's on your device, and storage at a glance — and interrupted downloads resume on their own. Approach plates and airport data are now listed with their size, so you can see everything a region downloads. • Track Logs, redesigned — browse recorded flights with a map preview, stats, and sorting — side by side on iPad. • Track vector — your aircraft symbol now projects a 60-second track vector, matching traffic targets, so you can see where you'll be in a minute. • The Charts tab is now Plates — same approach plates, SIDs/STARs, and airport diagrams, clearer name. • IFR High charts are twice as sharp when zoomed in. • IFR Low charts no longer show gaps or seams where inset charts meet when zoomed in. • Maintenance countdowns now follow the latest tach reading in your logbook. • Track log replay hides enroute chart clutter so your flight path stands out. Issues fixed: • Obstacle alert labels no longer overlap where towers cluster. • TFRs redraw correctly when the FAA revises them. • Map labels with international characters no longer knock out nearby labels. • Offline maps recover cleanly — a map tile that failed to load while offline retries instead of sticking at low detail, and “Delete all offline data” is now a complete reset. • Taxi diagrams appear correctly when an offline chart pack is installed. • Chart tabs are easier to close (bigger tap target). • Better default map layers on a fresh install. • The overlapping-chart picker no longer lists charts that aren't there — Alaska and Pacific enroute sheets are matched to their real coverage instead of a bounding box. • ADS-B badge now names the receiver you're actually using. • Attitude now updates from the fastest source your receiver offers. • Artificial horizon could settle into a wrong attitude when a receiver reported it had none. • Improved rate of climb — receivers that don't publish a climb rate were being read as a steep descent. • A correct compass in landscape — held in landscape, that reading could be up to 90° off. • Targets that aren't reporting a heading no longer draw as though they're tracking due north. • iCloud backup could fail with authentication error. Moved option to main ‘More' menu.
