Cannot Log In
There is a glitch where you cannot see the log in button to tap on when you first launch the app. Other than that, wonderful app.
Update
I don’t like the update that takes you to a website and makes you click through a bunch of crap before you can just practice.

Thank you for adding a subscription that includes everything. I have a lifetime of Magnus Trainer app. Is there any way to upgrade that to include these other two?

broken display never fixed!
For over 1 month this app has been unusable as various pieces are not visible.
I reported this malfunction but it still has not been repaired. All that seems to happen is my account get charged and the service is not provided.

Good
This is the greatest chess tactical frenzy app of all time. Runs smooth with clean and modern style. I was uncomfortable with the pieces but they quickly grew on me. Once in a very great while it will lag it freeze, but nothing is perfect and it is hard for developers to polish a phone game to perfection. I would recommend this to any player looking to sharpen their skills.

Great app, buggy interface
UPDATE (four months later): High score feature still does not work (or only works intermittently). I am a paying subscriber, and my new high scores only register once every ten-fifteen times or so (at best). Quite annoying, as this does seem eminently fixable. App merits cited in review below still stand. One further observation: The puzzle library is vast. I have played this game quite a bit, and am not bothered by undue repetitions.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: This app is probably the best way for club players to improve their tactical vision. That being said, the app is riddled with some annoying bugs, notably in registering monthly high scores. I have repeatedly (or, rather, consistently) had the experience of setting a (near) top score, only to have it fail to appear (both on my own top monthly score tab and on the common top score list). In terms of usability from a chess perspective, this is no big deal, but in terms of the app as a competitive game, it is rather more serious. That being said, the app is a great training tool and immensely more time-efficient than relying on combination books.

Game is great when I can login
Other Magnus apps are great. Paid for a year and have to remove and reload app after a couple of days. The field to enter the password doesn’t show up now so I can’t login or use the app at all even after deleting, rebooting my phone, and reinstalling the app. Hope they can fix the issue because I really like the puzzles.

The app is currently down
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, still simply won’t load up (first time experiencing this issue). Also, recently my hi-scores haven’t been counting! Currently subscribed as well, so not sure why that’s the case :(

Love the game itself, but high score feature doesn’t work
The puzzles are great, and it’s addictive to play. But for some reason the high score feature doesn’t work. I’ve exceeded the mark that it lists as my personal high score at least 20 times this month (it is kept by month), and it never updates. The app also just stops opening at all about once a week, and I end up deleting it and re-downloading it. I have the paid subscription version too. Great idea, and I love the competitive aspect of it, but I wish they’d address these things. I emailed support directly and never heard back.

Wish it was better
The puzzles are great but the app doesn’t work very well. I use it both on iPad and iPhone and for both the interface is really buggy. Frustrating because the interface is so simple and should be perfect.

Great app but
I really love This app and It did improve my chess better than any way I’ve tried
But there have been some bugs lately, every time I wanna solve a problem I select the piece I want to move and suddenly one of two things happens.Either the piece moves by itself to another square before I even select or the game stops and doesn’t reply.
And If I try dragging the piece, it appears not under my finger but underneath by about five squares
I’m a real fan of your app and huge thanks to Magnus and his talented team.Please solve this problem because playing is impossible like this.

Something to consider fixing
The app doesn’t let me play music while playing chess.
Crashes a lot
Mostly cool app. I feel like it’s helping. But it crashes all the time. Hopefully an update is coming soon
