About
Get your footage ready for the edit, wherever you work.
Take Proxy creates ProRes Proxy files on your iPhone or iPad. Built for video editors, filmmakers and anyone working with footage, it makes proxy preparation straightforward: choose a source folder, set your options and start.
READY FOR YOUR EDITING WORKFLOW
Create proxies in the ProRes 422 Proxy codec, saved as QuickTime MOV files. Choose a frame height of 480p, 540p, 720p or 1080p, or keep the source dimensions. Source aspect ratio and frame timing are preserved.
KEEP NAMES. RECONNECT WITH CONFIDENCE.
Take Proxy keeps each source file's name before the extension. For example, C001.mp4 becomes C001.mov. When attaching proxies or relinking in your editing application, match by filename without requiring the same extension. MOV is the output container used for ProRes Proxy.
SAVE WHERE YOU WORK
Choose any writable folder available through Files, including supported external storage. By default, proxies are placed in a separate output folder alongside your source material, keeping the originals untouched.
MARK YOUR PROXIES
Add a small P badge in the top-left corner to identify proxy footage at a glance, or turn the overlay off for a clean image.
SET IT ONCE
Save your preferred frame height and overlay choice as defaults, so the next job starts with your settings ready.
KEEP YOUR DEVICES USEFUL
Works on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and later. Give an older compatible device a useful role in your editing workflow.
The interface is available in 10 languages: English, German, French, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Italian, Serbian, Russian and Ukrainian.
Source format support depends on your device. Use the resulting files in editing applications that support ProRes Proxy.
