Hi there, this is Mattias, founder of Tala. I built Tala so my son could communicate, so I really do agree that cost shouldn't stand between a child and their voice. The natural-sounding voices cost us money every time they're used, which is why the app can't be completely free. I've kept the price as low as I can, and there's a free trial so families can see if it works for them first. Speech therapist review
As a speech therapist I am always looking for total functional communication supports and AAC supports for my work but also for my children in their everyday life. Tala is accessible to anyone as it is free …. Making it one of the best options for AAC as it is extremely easy to access and use. The app is well designed for functional communication to support language development. With core and fridge vocabulary it supports a child in communicating their wants and needs. It is overall a great app, that I will be recommending to lots of families!
