Tala ‘Uhinga Fakafaito’o (Tongan Medical Digital Health Literacy and Language App) is a resource developed to strengthen Tongan language revitalisation, improve health literacy, and support confident healthcare engagement for Tongan communities worldwide. This tool provides a bilingual glossary of medical and preventive health terms in both Tongan and English. Developed by Kiwa Digital in partnership with Puloka Health Consultancy (Dr Aivi and Dr Viliami Puloka), and supported through the Ministry for Pacific Peoples’ Pacific Language Strategy, this app bridges complex medical terminology to help families, youth, elders, students, and healthcare professionals communicate clearly and confidently. The glossary has been reviewed with quality assurance support from the Tonga Language Society, ensuring culturally aligned, accurate translations.
