Excellent App!

This is an excellent and eminently flexible app, with very handy customisation in the favorites section. The native audio is crystal clear and easily understood. I usually use Nemo, but this one is far better, where you can really drill down to get - and easily access - the phrases that you use the most. The Help section is very comprehensive, and there is a wide selection to choose in the Settings section. I have made a couple of suggestions for addition, and will wait to see if they get actioned. But, overall, this is the best Thai phrasebook app that I have seen - by far.

Does not work

Using iPad OS version 15.7.1.
Has also not worked for some previous versions.

Update

Pls, do something about this app.
Right after the updated IOS 14.2 version, can not get a proper typing. Whenever I type out Thai words, I can not get the exact words.

Response from developer

Please contact us at support@word-in-the-hand.com and we can help; we have not had other reports of this so there's probably a simple setting that will fix it. Some customers reported keyboard switching problems that occasionally affect dictation, and the immediate workaround is to use the globe-shaped key on the keyboard to switch instead of the tab floating above the keyboard. But feel free to contact us if that does not work.

Best thai phrase app

To speak thai, it's essential to get the pronounciation right, if not people will not understand you. The best system for learning the pronounciation is Paiboon plus. This requirement rules out many thai apps. After a lot of trial and error with different apps, I now use ThaiPhrase and TalkingThai (both use Paiboon plus), take notes, repeat. This is by far the most effective, app-driven way to learn thai I have found. ThaiPhrase is comprehensive, relevant in terms of what you need, and easy to use

More than just a phrase book

Great little app. Many features as mentioned in previous reviews. The creators get instructional design and that is reflected in all Paiboon products I've used so far including (especially)the Talking Thai app.
As an intermediate Thai learner I find it great to browse ThaiPhrase app. Often I've typed in a verb I like to use and be surprised by finding clever examples of usage that I hadn't come across before. This is great for expanding conversational capabilities.
More than just a 'phrase book' app in my opinion--I think serious students of Thai can benefit well by adding this fun tool to their app list. Enjoy!

Thai language learning help at it's best!

This is a step-up from any of the phrase books and language learning aids I've seen. Though I've been studying and speaking Thai for many years, I've found many things that help me review and refresh my language skills in this app. The amount of material here is vast. It's also very adaptable/adjustable for different situations, eg. gender specificity, and allows beginners to choose their preference from a large variety of romanized versions of Thai. Kudos to Benjawan and her Paiboon team for another great language learning tool!

Best phrase book

This is the best Thai phrasebook on the app store, and there are many to choose from and I think I have tried most of them.
It allows you to edit the text when there are numbers, days, times, ect. and will speak out your modified text.
When learning thai it is important that you get tones right and this app's roman character transcription and tone marks is the best. This app is worth every penny. I moved to Thailand 6 months ago and after trying many resources to help me learn the language Paiboon's products are the best. Can't go wrong.

One of the best

I have a Thai spouse and have been to Thailand many times. The Thai language is both fascinating and infuriatingly difficult to learn. So I have tried numerous apps and Thai teaching methods. This is one of the best, maybe THE best. It has a terrific dictionary that reflects the way Thai people really speak their language. It includes slang and "romantic" language as well, along with warnings that some of the words are not to be used on polite company. It has hundreds of phrases you really will want to use in Thailand. The help feature is wonderful. The only thing missing is a flash card feature, which is promised by the end of 2015. Buy it. You won't regret it!

New Pharsebook

I have been using Benjawan's products for many years. This new Pharsebook combines a dictionary and everyday phrases used in daily Thai language. I especially like the Thai keyboard to practice my reading and writing. This app is a must for beginner or advanced Thai English studies.
