App does not talk back even with the Ope switch on.
I came across this app on a YouTube video, because I am a blind, super beginner guitarist. I cannot get the app to talk back to me even with or without headphones.

Don’t know what I would do without it

Ich unterrichte blinde Menschen seit Jahren Musik. Die App erlaubt es genau zu stimmen und der Nutzer bekommt, leider nur auf Englisch, den Hinweis, ob die Seite zu hoch oder zu niedrig gestimmt ist. Leider wird dies immer erst nach dem Update von der Seite angesagt. Ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Aber so können auch blinde Anfänger Saiteninstrumente gestimmt zu Hause üben.

A must for the Severely Sight Impaired (SSI) Guitar Player…
It is just great to find an app that quite simply does the job. Although I need to use VoiceOver to navigate to the app and open it, it has its own voice engine providing tuning feedback.
Tip for guitar tuning using this app: Pick your string then mute the string with your palm for quick feedback.

Waste of money
Complete waste of time and money
Nice to find something like this
I’m learning mandolin, and it’s nice to be able to have a tuner that I can use without being able to see. First time I started the application on my iPhone/iPad, it did not work, but force quitting and restarting changed it. Voice is clear and understandable because it works with voiceover on. For some reason it kept saying that my g was six cents too short, and then when I have done nothing with it but came back later on it said it was in tune. Any suggestions on how close the instrument should be to the phone? Nice update would be an option to have instant speech feedback instead of waiting for the end of the note, which would be useful when wearing headphones and would not create interference.

Unintelligible and Unusable
This app is a great idea but the talking feedback is waaay too fast to understand making this app unusable. Too bad. My guitar-playing husband is blind and really needed it to work.

Talking tuner works once then you have to down load it all over again for it to work this is not for the blind to use
An accessible tuner
I had struggled for years to find an electronic tuner that I could use with very limited eyesight. I have used the Talking Tuner app for about six years now at gigs, at rehearsals and for practising at home, Mainly to tune my tenor and soprano saxophones. It is very accurate, has input sensitivity control and is easy to use. It is worth noting that the tuning reference is taken from the ending of the note, so important not to hold a good steady note, only to drift off at the end because that will be the note spoken. Almost what I need
I have friends who are blind. I like this talk tuner for them but it doesn’t have the incremental steps I need. It will go from 0 (in tune) to -6 for example. But I need -3 or -4 on a string. This won’t do it YET. If it did each degree then it would be perfect. I’ll check back to see if it upgrades. I had to buy it to find out and there was no problem receiving the refund.

Even those who use voice-over can use this app.
I have been looking for a guitar tuner and there are quite a few in the app store, but as I cannot see and rely on voice over, many of them are not usable but this one is. I am very impressed. Long may the developers keep it going.

When it works it really works great
Doesn’t always work but when it does it does
I’ve got it on iPhone and MacBook Pro. They don’t agree as far as tuning. I’m using a Bang and Olufsen mic. Sometimes it doesn’t “hear” the pitch and I have to close the app and open it again and then at the same volume it will hear the pitch.
Great app for visually impaired and blind musicians
I cannot say too much for this app because it does all the talking for me. This is a great app especially for visually impaired and blind musicians. Best dollar I ever spent. Thank you.

Talking Tuner
As a visually impaired guitarist in my band (Black Out Dden), I often need a reference note to tune my guitar to. After searching online I found this App and it is ideal for my needs.
I have guitars with robotic tuners on the headstock, but by placing your phone on the body of your guitar or in front of an amplifier the tuner works well. I cannot speak for other instruments but I imagine it will work well as the app relies on the phones microphone. Obviously the only drawback is that if there are any other ambient sounds it can interfere with the amount of time it takes for a note to register, but that aside a great app! Thanks to all at HotPaw.
