About

Find where the fish are in Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay FishScout maps habitat quality for snook, red drum, and spotted seatrout across the entire bay at 250-meter resolution. Tap any spot to see what makes it good or bad — seagrass proximity, mangrove access, bottom type, vegetation cover, depth, and more — all graded A through F for your species of interest. Predictions change by month, so you can plan around seasonal patterns. Switch between species to see who likes what, and explore bay-wide trends in temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen. Powered by boosted regression tree models trained on 35,000+ fisheries survey records collected over three decades by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute. Works completely offline — no cell signal needed on the water.
