About

Tank Evolution is a sandbox strategy simulation that combines the look of Battle City with the living logic of Conways Game of Life. You do not control a single tank. You shape the battlefield and watch two tank populations fight survive reproduce mutate and evolve. Every match becomes a small ecosystem where combat pressure resource pressure and terrain pressure push the next generation in different directions. Place resource zones danger zones and walls to change the rules of survival. Fast tanks may learn to escape and collect resources. Heavy tanks may hold key ground and win direct fights. High firepower tanks may dominate open lanes. Over time the battlefield selects winners and new traits spread through the population. Each tank has three core attributes speed firepower and armor. Tanks gain energy by surviving controlling resources and damaging enemies. When conditions are right they reproduce and pass their traits to offspring with small mutations. One line may become aggressive and fast. Another may become slow but durable. Evolution happens through battle not through manual upgrades. The game is easy to observe but full of long term depth. You can pause speed up reset and compare different outcomes under different maps and pressures. Watch populations rise split collapse and return in new forms. Tank Evolution is for players who love classic tank battles and also enjoy systems that grow change and surprise them over time. It is a battlefield with the shell of Battle City and the soul of Conways Game of Life.

What's New in TankEvolution

1.3

May 25, 2026

What's New • Smarter tanks: each gene profile now has its own combat style — fast tanks kite, heavy tanks brawl, gunners hold long range. • Tanks coordinate with allies, focus weak targets, seek cover when low on health, and retreat to reload when out of ammo. • Smoother movement with proper pathfinding around walls and a new threat map that helps tanks avoid enemy fire. • Refreshed visual design from the ground up: refined color palette, frosted-glass panels, redesigned battle screen, and clearer typography. • Statistics page now uses an interactive line chart, tank details get a sprite portrait and gene radar, and split events show a proper branching diagram.
