You have to swim to the finish line and not go under the water, you will be in a leisurely pace pushing your ship by waves, which you will create with your soft strokes on the water.
As you progress through the level you'll encounter additional ships, bringing them along with you, this will improve your final passing score.
Keep in mind, playing you are not limited in time and attempts, play for yourself in pleasant, spend your time enjoyable.
