About
TapClick answers two questions fast: what tempo is this, and what number do I type into the delay.
Tap the button in time with whatever you are listening to. After a few taps TapClick locks a BPM, and it drops the taps that were clearly wrong rather than letting one fumble drag the average. Or type a BPM straight in if you already know it.
Everything below updates the moment the tempo does.
WHAT YOU GET
- A tap tempo that rejects outliers, with the number of taps it kept and the average interval in milliseconds shown underneath, so you can see how steady you were.
- Every subdivision in milliseconds: whole, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth and thirty second.
- A full delay grid: quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes, each as straight, dotted and triplet. Nine values, the ones you actually need for a tempo-synced delay.
- A reset that clears the taps without losing the tempo you already have.
- Dark or light, following whatever your phone is set to.
WHY THE DELAY GRID
A dotted eighth delay is the sound on half the records you know, and getting it means multiplying a quarter note by 0.75 in your head while the session waits. TapClick has all nine values on screen at once, in milliseconds, ready to type into a plugin that does not sync to host tempo.
WHO IT IS FOR
Producers and mixing engineers setting delay and modulation times by hand, songwriters pinning down the tempo of an idea, DJs checking a track, and anyone working in a DAW with a plugin that will not take a tempo sync.
PRIVACY
TapClick makes no network requests, and it never asks for the microphone. There is no account, no sign up, no analytics and no advertising.
TapClick is a tempo and timing calculator. It works out and displays numbers; it does not play a click.
