About
Aim at one end, tap. Aim at the other, tap. That's the whole thing.
Tapely is a tape measure, a ruler, a level and an angle finder that live in the phone you already have on you. Because you always have your phone, and you seldom have your tape.
MEASURING IS FREE. IT STAYS FREE.
Not a trial. Not three measurements and then a paywall. Distance, height, area and angle, chained runs, snapping to a point you already placed, every unit including fractional inches down to sixteenths, and as many saved measurements as you like — free, forever, with no advertising anywhere in the app.
One optional payment unlocks export and a few extras. It never renews. Nothing that produces a number is behind it.
WHAT IT MEASURES
• Distance — aim, tap, aim, tap, and chain as many runs as you need
• Height — floor to ceiling, worktop, doorway, shelf
• Area — walk the corners and get the square footage and perimeter
• Angle — three taps give you the corner and the miter to cut it
FOUR INSTRUMENTS, ALL FREE
• Ruler — a calibrated on-screen ruler for what AR can't reach, anything under a hand's width
• Level — bullseye when the phone is flat, single axis when it's against a wall
• Angle finder — rest it on one surface, zero it, rest it on the other. A digital bevel.
• Converter — metres, feet, and inches down to sixteenths
HONEST ABOUT HOW ACCURATE IT IS
Every measuring app on your phone is a few percent off, and none of them will tell you. Tapely does two things about it.
It shows you when the reading can be trusted — and when it can't, it says which problem you have. Moving too fast and aiming at a blank wall are opposite faults with opposite fixes, and being told to slow down when the real trouble is a bare white wall helps nobody.
And it lets you fix the rest. Measure a bank card, a dollar bill or a sheet of paper once — all of them are made to an exact standard — and Tapely works out how far off your iPhone runs and corrects every reading from then on.
FEET AND INCHES, PROPERLY
Metres, decimal feet, or feet with real fractional inches down to sixteenths. 8' 0 1/8", not 8.01 ft. Round to halves, quarters, eighths or sixteenths — your choice, and free.
KEEP WHAT YOU MEASURE
Name it, add a note, reopen it whenever. There is no cap on how many you save, and there never will be. A measurement you took is yours.
TAPELY PRO — ONE PAYMENT
• Export — send a measurement out as text, or share it
• Projects — group a job's measurements together and label them
• Pro tools — TV sizer, volume, and stud spacing at 16" or 24" centres
Paid once, from the App Store. No subscription, no free trial to forget about, nothing to cancel. Prices vary by country or region.
NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE
No account. No sign-up. No server. Nothing you measure is uploaded anywhere, and the app works with no signal at all.
A NOTE ON ACCURACY
AR measuring lands within about 2–3%. Lighting, glass, mirrors and blank walls all make it worse. Before you cut material or commit to a price, check the number with a real tape.
