TapeMode: VHS Retro Camcorder

No endless recording: you hold a real cassette. TapeMode is built around a cassette economy. Every tape has a limited length and recording stops when it is full. To keep going, insert a new tape or rewind and record over an old clip. Each overwrite wears the tape a little more, and the wear shows up in the picture. CASSETTE ECONOMY • T-30, T-60 and T-120 tapes: the time really runs out • Recording stops automatically when the tape is full • Remaining time countdown on the recording screen • A segment map of the tape: which part is used, empty or recorded over REWIND AND RECORD OVER • Pick a section from the segment strip • Record over it: the old footage goes, the new one comes in • Every overwrite raises the tape's wear level • As it wears, noise, color shift and distortion grow and the tape ages VHS LOOK • Color bleed and chroma smear • Scan lines and moving grain • Tape bandwidth blur • Vertical sync drift and tracking band ON-SCREEN DISPLAY A blinking REC light, time counter, tape name, SP/EP mode, date and time, all burned into the video. SOUND A real analog cassette feel: slow wow, fast flutter, light hiss and softened high frequencies. WHAT YOU SAVE What you see is what gets saved. The effects are written into the file, so there is no filter to add later. LANGUAGE The app interface is in Turkish and French.
