About
Taqti checks whether Urdu poetry is in meter. Type a couplet or a whole ghazal and see in an instant whether it scans — with the bahr named, the feet marked out, and the weight of every syllable shown.
• 48 classical meters and their variants — khafif, hazaj, ramal, muzari, mujtas, mutaqarib, rajaz, kamil and more
• Full scansion of every line: foot boxes, syllable weights (1 and 2), and a note wherever a poetic licence was used
• Repair suggestions for lines that are out of meter — izafat, tashdid, synonyms
• Verified couplets in the same bahr from Ghalib, Mir, Iqbal, Daagh, Momin, Zauq and others
• Urdu and English interface
• Save to your bayaz, share, make a PDF
• Works fully offline; your poetry never leaves the device
The engine is rule-based, not a guess: audited against 14,000+ lines by 13 classical poets.
Pro unlocks radeef & qafia checking, an explanation of each couplet, lessons in arooz, the complete reference list, and removes the daily limit.

What's New in Taqti
1.0.1
September 14, 2026
Fixes two problems reported after launch: • Pasting a ghazal could collapse the whole poem into a single line, depending on where it was copied from. Every line now separates correctly. • The free daily allowance refused a whole poem when it was longer than the lines remaining. It now checks as far as the allowance goes and tells you what was left.
