Incredible tacos, app built like it lost a fight with a printer 🌮
I love Taqueria La Ventana. Like, emotionally committed. I’m at the Knox/Henderson location at least twice a week, which means this app should feel like a fun little loyalty sidekick.
Instead, it feels like the app was assembled during a lunch rush by someone actively fleeing a tortilla press.
The food? Excellent.
The atmosphere? Great.
The app rewards system? A psychological stress test with queso.
Here’s the issue: the loyalty tiers make almost no sense. I’m currently “Spicy,” which sounds exciting, but mathematically it is just “Mild” wearing a fake mustache. Mild earns 1 coin per $1. Spicy also earns 1 coin per $1. So the app congratulates me for spending more money and then hands me the exact same reward rate like I just unlocked a decorative title in a game nobody asked to play.
Then, only after spending $1,001 within 365 days do you finally earn faster, at 2 coins per $1. That means the middle tier is basically a loyalty waiting room with better branding.
A better setup would be simple:
Mild: 1 coin per $1
Spicy: 2 coins per $1
Fuego: 3 coins per $1
That way, moving up actually feels rewarding instead of like being promoted to Assistant Regional Taco Consumer.
Also, please, for the love of all things carne asada, let us tap the rewards card instead of making employees scan it through the POS camera. Watching that process is like playing the cookie challenge in Squid Game, except the prize is me holding up a line while my phone brightness, glare, and everyone’s dignity fight for their lives.
I’m writing this because I genuinely love the restaurant and want the app to match the experience. La Ventana has the food, the vibe, and clearly loyal customers. The app just needs to stop punishing the people who are already showing up constantly.
Please fix the rewards tiers and add tap-to-scan/tap-to-pay style loyalty support. My tacos deserve better. So do your customers. 🌮🔥
