What's New in Tare

1.11.0

July 31, 2026

BODY COMPOSITION • Losing fat while gaining muscle used to read as standing still. Tare now follows fat and lean mass separately, so the weeks your training is working look like it. • Add your body fat when you log a weigh-in, or let it arrive on its own — a scale that reports it through Apple Health fills it in, including up to six months you've already recorded. • Body fat travels both ways now: a percentage you type reaches Apple Health too, and whichever app you last changed it in is the one that wins. • Your weight chart carries body fat alongside it, so whether the weight you lost was fat or muscle reads at a glance. • Reports gains a Body Composition section — fat mass, lean mass and body fat percentage over one, three or six months. • Once Tare knows your lean mass, your baseline burn is worked out from it rather than from height and weight. • A scale having a bad week can't run away with your targets. A reading claiming more muscle than a body can build gets discounted, and Reports tells you it happened. • Nothing changes for anyone not tracking body fat. PROTEIN AND FIBER SUGGESTIONS • Tap protein or fiber on your daily log and Tare answers "what should I eat to close this?" — the same suggestions you already get for iron or calcium. • Your own recipes, saved meals and custom foods come first, ranked by how much of the gap each one closes. • Already on target? The same tap shows what got you there. • Fiber now shows a target even if you've never set one. SUPPLEMENTS THAT BRING THEIR OWN WATER • Tell Tare how much water you take a supplement with, and ticking it off logs both — psyllium, creatine, electrolyte powders, effervescent tablets. • Enter the amount in your own units. Unticking the supplement takes the water back out. • It reaches Apple Health dated to the day the supplement was taken. Plus bug fixes.

User reviews

wish i could get my money back

there’s a bug not showing micronutrient names, the database has the same thing multiple times with different calorie counts so you dont know which is accurate, i cant put fractions like 1/3 cup, decimals only, recipe building and logging is too time consuming

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. A new version of the app has been released that allows to use fractions and fixes light mode view. To request a refund, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
