Not great
The app doesn’t allow you to search for recipes or save the recipes like you can in your web account. The only reason I wanted the app was for easy access to recipes.
No text search and plays loud music upon opening
I thought I’d be able to bookmark some of the recipes I had found on their website in the app. However, I don’t see any easy way to do this, and was startled to hear loud music playing as soon as the app opened. Apparently the video feed starts automatically overall good recipes with little ad content, but was not what I was looking for.

Make sure your volume is down
Is there really a point to having the annoying music playing when I open the app? I’ve been embarrassed when opening the app several times by how loud the music is. Please make it go away

Search option
I read the only review. Downloaded the app. Couldn’t find the spy glass to enter a search. Double clicked too right corner & the search space appeared. Did a search for Chicken Pot Pie & the selection was 5 videos for boneless, skinless chicken breast. Tried the search again, different wording, poor results.

Hard to search for specifics.
I’ve always enjoyed taste of home, but this app is not very user-friendly. If you want to search for a specific kind of recipe, like cooking asparagus, in the oven, there’s no way to do that.
What’s wrong with using text?
I downloaded the app and deleted it within the hour. I love the website, but the app is all videos. Like the other reviewer said, I found a list of recipes, but they’re all pictures. Where is the name of the recipe? Why is everything picture or video? Yes, they have their place, but I want to know what recipe I’m looking at or skim the recipe to determine if I want to make it instead of devote time to a video. Also, why is this video just blasting at me the second I open the app? I’d also love to be able to log in with my website credentials, but that doesn’t work? Bottom line: Website is great, app is awful.

Where is the search option?

This app is full of videos on how to make a recipe. What is does not have are actual recipes, with ingredient and amounts listed. How is one supposed to follow a video how to without the amounts of ingredients listed?
And, as many have mentioned, there is no search box available.
There is no reference to their magazine issues either. This app is a total joke.

I really want to love this app but it’s not easy to navigate. There’s no tool bar to search recipes. Access to my saved recipes is not convenient. It’s not an organized easy to access app. I love the recipes. I don’t love the app :(.

Cannot find my favorites section. Very cumbersome app.
Taste of home, more like taste of rotten eggs
There’s no way to search for the name of a recipe. If you have an account on the website, like I have for years, and have several folders with saved recipes, they aren’t transferred to the app. You have to start all over again. All I see are videos. What about the list of ingredients? What about the cooking directions? How about the information like serving size, nutritional information and cooking times? Maybe I’m missing something but this app is a total bust!!

Why can’t you search for an ingredient? It is impossible to find a recipe without paging through a ton of other things. Pictures also don’t give you what the dish is. I will be deleting this app.

Horrible……….couldn’t find the speaker button to turn off the terrible music and no “Search” button! I’m going to delete it after I send this message! Had to give it one star because there was not a “zero”option!
