A must have for live keyboardists
I use this live on stage with my AUs. A big issue with iOS music is that the levels are EVERYWHERE. I initially was using the TB compressor to reign in the dynamic range, but barricade is insanely better suited to this task.
PROS:
-Low dsp (as long as you don’t use the built in compressor)
-Boost the gain towards the ceiling at -1 dbfs and you’ll be able to bring up those super quiet piano apps (cough*Korg*cough). Seriously, boost the gain on the Ivory Pianos inside module and they come to life LIVE — not just on playback in a daw.
-place Barricade on a bus to make certain your whacky synth app that sometimes glitches doesn’t blow some speakers
-the audition capability is great to make sure you aren’t over limiting, or getting rid of part of the sound you’d like to keep
-SATURATION. Most of you probably don’t even realize there’s multiple saturation algorithms that work on an adjustable threshold. The mixer, mild, and tape algorithms work really well to contain the digital artifacts in some synths, or grunge up the tone to get a little lower-fi
-virtually no latency. I play live at 64 samples. Pianos, clav, b3, synths, etc. This limiter, unlike most of the others on iOS, does not affect playability.
-an actual manual
CONS:
-Graph layout is a little odd, not particularly intuitive, and looks fuzzy on AUv3 (standalone is clear). Do read the manual to do anything more advanced than brick wall limiting.

Perfect! No Latency!
Buy the fabfilter, buy the Fac, and this is the only limiter that does not introduce latency !!! and it sounds great !!! it is perfect!

Is it possible to have dry/wet function for the comp? Or better can you release a compressor/downward expander with dry/wet and hp or side chain filter? It will be simply a bestseller for ios. Thank you for your hard work and golden ears!

Man the Barricade!
IOS music makers have until recently had two possibilities for Limiter/Compressor apps. Cheap and cheerful, often inferior models, or the relatively expensive Fab Filter offering. Now, we have Barricade. An app that is very reasonably priced and yet also very high quality. Not as sophisticated as Pro-L but easily able to accomplish what anyone who isn’t a sound engineer might want to do. It is especially handy for people who bought into FF under Auria Pro, and now find themselves expected to pay all over gain to use those apps elsewhere. If that is you, then Barricade is great solution.
