Great paper

Great paper !

Review TBC

First, I would like a seamless transition from, “your subscription has expired” to “renew now”. I shouldn’t need a password that I can’t replace if forgotten to give you my money.
Some articles, I skip altogether just because of the headline knowing the liberal slant.
The sports just keeps getting smaller until it disappears and so will I.
Thank you, John Nash

Can’t get any longer no help

App not working on my iPad

New newspapers are not showing since Wednesday…some kind of technical issue…frustrating

Always having login problems

Almost every time I try to login, I can’t I’m about ready to cancel.

Communication

About 3 years ago I subscribed to the Californian online. The employees at the old building downtown helped me get set up
Online . They were very helpful and kind to an elderly lady like me.
Overtime there was some mix-up and then there was no one in that building that was helping people with their online problems.
My son tried to help me get back on, but to no avail.
So, we were unable to reach anyone who could help me .
I give this paper an F plus in dealing with being able to contact you
to solve problems dealing with customers.
Ironic that you are in the business of communication!

Thanks for letting me air this. Hope it gets to someone.

TBC Review

The paper is full of pictures and stories from other cities. Plenty
of stories happen in Bakersfield’s 400,000 people. We would rather see these highlighted.....

App

The app for this newspaper is too large.

Inability To Send Articles To Our Children

We used to be able to share Californian articles with our children. However, we are now unable to do that electronically. As we could clip the article out of the paper version we still receive (specifically so we can clip articles), it doesn’t make sense that we can’t email or text articles to them. Fix this (and get rid of that stupid new comic that replaced retail - how about Family Circus or even Drabble?), and you will rise to five stars in our estimation.

Bad App

I got this update 3 days ago, and I’m really disappointed in it. I’m trying to use it on my iPad, as I’ve been doing for years. First, there is nothing showing how to get into the paper. I finally figured it out but today it won’t let me access the newspaper. This is extremely frustrating! Is there any way I can go back to the former app? It was so much easier to use.

Search

This ap used to be great. They took out the search feature which I used a lot! The navigation also seems a little off compared to last one. I’m not sure if it’s because the newspaper was sold and new owner uses a different IT. Just not the same. I actually emailed someone at the newspaper. This person couldn’t understand that search feature doesn’t work in app as they kept directing me to a browser and the search feature is there. And they were using internet explorer as their browser!! Too funny.

New app is not user friendly

Old app much better

Very clunky

Can’t view past issues. Can’t zoom in and view one full article at a time. Now have to go back and forth to read stories on different pages. Very inconvenient. Wish the old version was available

New electronic edition

The new electronic edition is awful because I cannot adjust the size. I really hate the way the paper seems to float.

Nothing but irritating

Piss poor,,,keeps shutting down,,,have tried to use this for past several months,,,subscription going bye bye come Monday.

Not For iPhone

This app is horrible on the iPhone. It glitches and will not scroll. The page turn buttons cover the text so that it cannot be read.

New software update not an improvement

I much prefer the previous software for the E-edition. It was easier to navigate and didn’t have back/forward buttons obscuring text. Why the change?

Update is terrible.

Why are you adding an iOS advertisement on top of the advertisements in the paper. We are subscribing with our money and we should not have these ads.

Oops. Some bugs...

There are a bunch of bugs in this version of the app. Often today's paper does not load - you just get yesterday's paper, even though the Californian has sent an email advising that the paper is "out" and ready to read. I had to sign in four times to the paper this morning, which is really frustrating when it comes up in the middle of trying to read an article. Also, many of the pages failed to load.

A Step Backwards

Can no longer swipe between different day editions. You get the wrong day and cannot get out of it.
