Great Grading Scanner for Collectors, Needs Improvements and Additional Features for the Price
So a few key points of observation:
1) There is no trial period, it’s either pay the weekly use rate ($8) or the yearly rate ($80) which are both somewhat high for the functionality.
2) Excellent scanner which properly grades and classifies scanned cards the first time. I have been playing since MTG first came out and my older cards were properly identified and defects noted. I have noticed this feature lacking from other scanners so this is a breath of fresh air.
3) Excellent insights into card history, usage, and statistics. There is a lot of information given for each card which could be helpful for collectors trying to determine if they should purchase/sell a card.
4) Limited functionality, no ability to create folders or organize cards other than by name. Gives price ranges for a card but does not give an evaluation. Built in camera doesn’t work well, images come out blurry and manual camera adjustment is required on phones with multiple lenses (the app doesn’t select the proper lens for closeups). No ability to build decks or rank them.
Summary: this app seems excellent for collectors and sellers trying to grade specific cards but is probably not worth it for the average player trying to build and organize their entire library for active play and value tracking. A free ad-supported version would make this much more friendly for the average user.
