Perfect single purpose app
I originally wrote this review on the free app because the write a review wasn’t immediately available.
I downloaded this app a couple of years ago and love its simple clean interface especially when I’m looking for some weird chord voicing. I use it all the time. The link to the paid version doesn’t work and I don’t think it prompted me to pay for the ad free version so thought it was fallow unsupported app and was dreading the day it finally broke with an iOS update.
Anyway I was just upgrading an iPad and clicked on the developer to find there is a paid version, which I couldn’t buy for fast enough. There is no option to review the paid app so I’m leave this one here.
I appreciate the app so much and have used for years. I would happily give it six stars if I could and would have paid twice the price now know how useful it is to me.
My only one little gripe if you Devs read this; there has to be Fsus2 open voicing and alternate odd open chords is usually what I use this app most for. You also might wanna fix that link or put some upgrades prompts in.

Repeatedly crashes whenever you try to select an instrument😵💫
No longer allows you select an instrument other than the default guitar … crashes repeatedly.
Basic but mostly good
You can try this for free as the Basichords app, but I wanted no ads so I bought it. It gets 4 stars because the guitar only has standard tuning. Would have been nice to see DADGAD chords.
Pretty dumb app
I bought this for mandolin. No tuner so you’re expected to tune it elsewhere . Pretty dumb.

App says tap on diagram, but no sound.
Worth he price
Works great. I use it for banjo and mandolin. Clean interface and gives you several options to pick from. Sometimes i build my own variation chords from what the app shows me and it’s easy because the app tells you where the root, 3rd, 5th etc notes are.
Smart and responsive
This is the easiest and best thought out stringed instrument chord app I have seen. Great job.
I can no longer change instrument
I made the mistake of switching to another instrument (I play the mandolin) and am now stuck with guitar chords. Can't seem to change back. What was a great app is no use to me anymore.
Teak chords
Great at showing the chords and the fingering. However, plays only the one chord, regardless of selection in both guitar and ukulele options
Great App for Mandola
So little mandola info out there. This little app is a great resource, puts all the chord charts for all three of my instruments (guitar, mandola, mandolin) at my fingertips. Simple, easy to use. Great app.
Why no GDAD?
Having standard mandolin tuning AND "GDAE bouzouki" is redundant, and most Irish bouzouki players tune GDAD. I asked the developer about this and he stated he was thinking of implementing it, but the app has not been updated since 2011 and no sign of an update as this was several months ago. I will be deleting Tekachords from my phone on completing this review.

Great App - One Big Complaint
Great cavaco / tenor guitar app. Don't buy Tekachords if you buy this. They are exactly the same thing. Why sell the same app with 2 different names? It's a rip off.
Need tuner
Great app in general, would be more helpful if it has tuner.
Fantastic resource
Can't understand why more people haven't bought and rated this app. Tremendous resource for chords on range of string instruments.
Good for everybody but me
There are no altered tensions and the voicings for each chord is limited.
Really surprised by this new approach to a chord app.
Love it. Try out the free version first of course. I just prefer it without ads.
Simple and well-executed
This a great straightforward chord app, but stands out because of the smart presentation and scope of supported instruments. I play both guitar and ukulele, so I appreciate having a single chord app that I can use for either instrument. The app also allows you to hear each chord strummed at three different speeds, which is actually quite helpful for a beginning player (like me!)

Handy Utility
Long story short, it pretty much does what it says and looks decent doing it.
As for the difference between this and the free version, the free one has ads and this one does not. It says this in the description and in the free app. If you don't mind the banner ad, stick with the free version. I don't mind spending a couple bucks to lose the banner, personally.

Paid for "full" version but
This seems to be exactly the same as the free app. I'm a little cranky about having paid, and received no additional content. The two versions should state exactly what the differences are, if any. Otherwise, it works well as a chord finder, even if the tone files are very basic midi type tones. The alternate instruments do not all include equivalents of 11, 13, susX (beyond basics,) and while there are not always 4-string equivalents, this is still the sort of information a beginner or intermediate player will be looking for. These notations should be included for all instruments in the app, or else noted when they are the same as/substitute ChordX.

A solid resource.
Excellent little program, and a great little reference I play the guitar, ukelele and mandolin. It's great to have resource that brings all the cord shapes into one place. Hopefully they will look at including different tunings in the future.
