It doesn’t seem to work
I purchased this for $.99 and was surprised to see it showing ads. For another $.99 I was able to buy the full version with no ads. Unfortunately, it does not record the tempo either by listening to another source, listening to music being played on my iPhone 16 Pro, or singing to it on the phone. I have reported this to Apple. I tried to get a refund, but Apple says it is not eligible. Perhaps this is because the charge is “still pending“
