What's New in Tempo64

3.9

September 28, 2026

v3.9 — Random online opponents on tap. RANDOM MATCHMAKING Tap vs Human → Random opponent to be paired with another Tempo64 player over Game Center. 5+0 blitz. No invite codes, no setup. Sign in to Game Center on your device (Settings → Game Center) so we know who you are. If nobody shows up in 30 seconds — normal while the player pool is still growing — you'll drop into a game against Tempo Bot instead. Same board, same 9:16 video at the end, so you're not left waiting. AUDIO Sound effects during play no longer duck your background music or flip the hardware volume buttons to the media track. Turn on Spotify or Apple Music, start a game — the SFX layer over your music at full volume instead of dimming everything. FIT AND FINISH - Pawn promotion picker: black pieces now read clearly against the dark card thanks to a soft rim light behind each piece. - Host a game: the invite screen slides straight into the board the moment your friend joins. No more back-tap dance to un-stick. - Leave-game guard: pressing Home mid-game now asks whether you want to resign (gives your opponent the win) or leave without a result. Post-mate, Home just goes home like before.

My new favorite chess app

This is seriously amazing how easy it is to make videos out of my games and they come out so great. Love the auto sound effects.

Simplistic, intuitive and really funny.

I’m a big fan of this app, finding a chess app that doesn’t give you the run around is rare these days. The functions are intuitive and easy to adapt to, the fun sound additions heighten the experience as does the satisfying haptics. To me the real MVP is the review portion where it highlights blunders and wins from throughout the previous game🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽, like I said Big Fan!

Getting me views on Tiktok!

I recently started using this app and it’s been pretty good. I’ve been getting thousands of views on the posts with a brand new account within a week.

Feedback - It’d be great if there was a feature for showing great moves automatically and the option for recording little video clips after certain chess moves of my choosing.
