vTracking 2 is a service for managing and monitoring transportation vehicles. It uses GPS technology combined with mobile networks to track vehicle locations, monitor journeys, and observe operational statuses like door and engine activity.
Key features include real-time online monitoring of vehicle location and journeys with a minimum update cycle of 10 seconds, the ability to review past journeys and fuel charts, and management of vehicle statuses such as door open/close, engine on/off, and operating speed.
Each registered vehicle is equipped with a 'Journey Monitoring Device' that includes a SIM card. This device records parameters like vehicle speed and can be connected to other on-board equipment like engines, doors, or cameras. The recorded data is then transmitted via GPRS to a central processing center for display to the user.
The description implies that the service is installed on registered vehicles with a specific 'Journey Monitoring Device'. While it doesn't explicitly state compatibility limitations, it suggests a hardware installation is required for each vehicle to be monitored.
Common use cases include managing and monitoring delivery fleets, tracking the movement of goods, ensuring driver safety by monitoring speed and operational status, and analyzing fuel consumption to optimize operational efficiency for transportation businesses.
