Show as picture feature
Please bring back show items in basket as picture feature. Why did you remove it? It’s so much easier to look at them in pictures.
Lagging/delayed responsiveness
I’ve been using the Tesco app for a couple of years now and something has recently changed. There is clearly a problem with the app that is making it inefficient and causing the phone to work harder as it gets hot when I use it (also tried it with my husband’s phone and my iPad and have the same result). The app then frustratingly lags after every interaction -scrolling/adding to the basket etc. Please fix this issue, really don’t want to have to shop with other supermarkets but this is just far too annoying to continue with.

Freezing and excessive battery use
I use the app for Whoosh and the app lags, stops responding and eats my battery alive. Tried it on another iPad and same results. Has been like this for a while with no fix coming. The iPad heats up and I can’t see any background activity via my network tools.

Really good app but seems to have so many glitches, lie deleting saved cards, or failing to update an order properly, that really need to be sorted.
Tescos got so bad
The fact you need clubcard just to get normal price is ridiculous and should be illegal to charge that much for things that have rrp. My last delivery from you was half as much as I would normally get from Asda delivery. Even with club card. Sorry but never again. Things need to change.

Freezing phone
Absolutely terrible app — it completely froze my iPhone
This is not the first time the Tesco app has caused my iPhone to become completely unresponsive, but this time it was beyond unacceptable.
After opening the Tesco app, my entire phone froze. I couldn’t use the app, couldn’t access anything else on my phone, and I couldn’t even turn the phone off normally. I had to perform a force restart just to regain control of my device.
The consequences were ridiculous. I couldn’t pay for my shopping because my phone was completely unusable. Even worse, my train ticket was on my phone, so I couldn’t access it and ended up having to walk home.
An app should never be capable of taking down an entire device like this. Whatever is happening in Tesco’s code needs to be investigated urgently. This is not a minor bug or an occasional inconvenience — it can leave the user completely stranded.
I have now deleted the Tesco app from my phone, and based on my experience, I strongly advise others to think twice before installing or relying on it, especially if you keep important tickets, payment methods or other essential information on your phone.
Terrible, unacceptable and frankly embarrassing for a major retailer. No modern mobile app should be able to behave this badly.

Useless - no option to enter card details !!!!
App seemed to be working well, I put items in my basket without any problems - however when it got to the payment stage, nothing happened when I tapped on ‘Pay by card’, app just stayed on the same screen. Tried another couple of times but same result. So I had to log in to the Tesco website to be able to make payment (which I was able to do successfully). Tesco - Sort your app out, it’s entirely useless because the payment facility doesn’t work at all !!!!!!

Slow
App used to run fine until a few months ago, but has recently become painfully slow bordering on unusable.
In-store shopping list feature is great.
The app allows you to create an in-store shopping list that shows you not only what you want to get but also whether it is in stock and which aisle it is in. Additionally, when you use a scanner you can transfer that list to it and sort by aisle so you can pick up everything on your list without having to go backwards and forwards which I have found to save time and energy.

Sponsored buys are bad
In the last year or so Tesco’s have allowed sponsored buys. As you approach checkout, rather than having your regular things sold to you (which is quite good) you instead get sponsored buys which having Nothing to do with your purchasing history. The reason I shop with Tesco’s is not because they are the cheapest but because their app works the best. I am not sure I can say that anymore. I really am hoping that sponsored items disappear for good. Please listen!

Sponsored products make it unusable
Every search now has several sponsored products at the top with terrible keyword matching. So every time you look for something you have to scroll past these products. Stop maximising your ad revenue and get some customer service and user experience. It’s painful.
Club card. Good for saving money and earning points

App was better before but now gets confused if you pay by Amex, where you go round in circles trying to complete your order, cancel your order and go back to your order to find its was actually complete when it said it wasn’t !
Painfully slow
This is the first app that I’ve left a review for, I had no choice. I had my shopping list written down and usually it takes about 10 minutes to add everything to the cart and checkout but this evening it took over 40 minutes. The app is very unresponsive and takes more than 30 seconds to register a selection or that you have selected the search bar. I’m guessing there’s someone wanting to reduce their AWS compute costs but please fix it.

Buggy
It keeps freezing when I try to search for anything. Been doing this a few months now. A reinstall helps briefly, it’s very annoying!
Useful but painfully slow
This app has serious performance issues. Often it’s quicker to just switch to the website on my computer and order/edit/search from there. This has been a problem for a few months now, just Tesco Grocery, other apps are fine.
