Good live compilation!

Taught me LATEX. Could use a dedicated backslash button, otherwise quite good

Free to download, but help must be purchased.

The download is free, but there is no free documentation on how to use it. The user is being exploited by the app and this should be made clear prior to downloading it to prevent frustration and wasted effort. Not recommended without better warnings in the App Store.

I attempted to upgrade my review one star and my review was hacked and deleted, so I stand by my initial assessment. This is not a complete TeX program and is only useable to typeset individual equations or learn how the TeX language functions. Let the buyer beware!

I just changed the backgroud color

it's beautiful!

iMessage extension is awesome!

I got this mainly for its iMessage extension. It’s super easy to use, and is great when you want to write even a little math in a conversation. Thank you!

Fantastic, precisely what I needed

Every once in a while I need to drop an equation into an online post or article, and TeX Anywhere is perfect for quickly typing it up and generating an image. Simple and powerful design, I love it.

So cool!!

I love this so much; I’m constantly texting friends in grad school about our statistics homework and this will be so much better

Love it .

Now I can help my kid in college sending her some math directly through sms. Very efficient and convenient!

Amazing app

I’ve always been wondering if there would be an app on iOS like the LaTeXiT. Surprisingly, here it is! Well done! The overall experience is enjoyable, while the following are the improvements I hope in future updates: More math symbols can be introduced, like multiple integral and \boldsymbol commands, etc. I would also like the option that part of the toolbars can be fixed on the screen, because backslashes and curly brackets are just so frequently used. Well done again and best wishes!

Great app.

This app is better than Vulcanize. It would be nice if there was the \cancel function for showing canceled units/terms.

Easy to use!

Very powerful yet simple. I use it all the time when writing lab reports, papers, and presentations. It’s very easy to write an equation and export it to use elsewhere.

Nice Interface, but Hard to Use

I'd like to rate this app higher, but it needs to have the special LaTeX symbols more accessible. It does have a few shortcuts, but not nearly enough. You have to use shift keys to even make the common \ control symbol visible.

After seeing the developer's response, I did some more experimentation and found that the small menus above the on-screen keyboard scroll, so he is quite right: there are many more symbols available than I thought. A small, but all too common oversight, is the failure to provide good instructions for using the app. I have changed my rating from two stars to four and am looking forward to using this app much more often.

Response from developer

You can type a \ and other common LaTeX syntax characters without using the shift key by pressing the “\” button above the on-screen keyboard. The buttons next to it open menus to access over 60 macros for mathematical symbols and special characters.

No option to delete files

Edit: I did find how to delete files just recently (thanks for the suggestion).

Just downloaded the app, and have created files/generated PDFs with no issue. However, I think there should be an option to delete a file once it has been created: I have only seen Share options for any select file while editing, no delete option; the Settings menu does not hold the ability to delete files; and I cannot press and hold a file then release to delete. This addition would help everyone who uses this app.

Thanks!

P.S. The Wikibooks link is super awesome!

To delete a file, tap the title under its thumbnail on the file picker screen. Then tap the trash can icon on the lower-right.

So many uses

-Normally I have to hand write equations and take a photo to help communicate with my peers and now I can send them clean equations.

-I could see also using this to help with sending hints for my students too!

Great, clean, simple, and well executed application thanks so much for making it!
