User reviews

Largely Subscription-Based

There are many things wrong with this app. To begin with, the majority of text on this app is very hard to read. The background of the app is black and the text is a very dark gray, providing no contrast whatsoever. Secondly, and probably most importantly, this app costs $20/month and $50/year to unlock access to all the routes, and by this I mean access to one complete route in general. The driving routes are broken up into pieces and there is only one piece available for non-subscribers. The terms also say no cancellation of the subscription is allowed during the active period, which just point-blank feels incredibly scummy. If you try to delete your account, the app is stuck on the loading screen. I do not see how this would entice anyone to purchase a subscription. I can’t speak of the authenticity of the routes themselves, and I do think this is a good idea for an app, but there is no way this is usable.

Edit: as someone who has designed apps/websites, if this is a student’s test app, I think it’s good for practice. I do think it should’ve been worked on more before publishing though.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. I will certainly take on board the feedback regarding the contrast during the next update in order to make it clearer as it was not something I was aware of. Regarding the price the app has taken years to collate the routes, create the app and test it. Its an ongoing process to keep it updated with any new routes and there is also a Google Maps and Mapbox fee each time a route is used which is why we have to charge a fee and $20 is the fairest price I can think of considering the high overheads involved. Best of luck with your test and I hope the app helps.
