It works great.
The reading is clear and precise. It works great for ePub text to speech. You can download documents from Dropbox and listen to them as you drive, eat, excersise or whatever you do that keeps your eyes focused elsewhere.
The only fault it has so far is that it does not keep a bookmark and looses its place if you get a call or have to put it up for later. On long contracts and legal papers it can be frustrating having to fing you place over and over again.

a wonderful study tool
i first started using textparrot to read text to me in a literary theory class. i'd read an article and then get textparrot to read it to me again later on. totally helped me retain the content i needed to remember. and a great proofreading tool. on my highly recommended list.

This app doesn't add itself to the "open with" list so you can only add a document for it to read by using drop box. Super annoying.
Very functional in a multi-task dependent world
I'm grateful for this app. It allows me to "read and re-read" lecture notes, e-texts, and copies of websites for continuing education lessons, while driving. All I have to do is create; copy and paste; and press play. I can listen during my commute.
The only negative I've found so far is that the medical journals and biology education materials often have temporary changes in the voice/accent of the "speaker". It changes to a French- or Indian- accent and enunciation and is inconsistent for repetitions of the same word (i.e. benzodiazepines).

Great for grad school
Grad school involves reading hundreds of research articles. Often I read multiple times, the first being mostly to get a general idea. The second time more in depth for note taking. This app allows me to listen to articles while doing other things (cooking, working out, etc), thus serving as the first read.
