No British voices
Despite what it says when choosing a voice, all of the English AI voices are American. I would clone my own voice, but I’m not paying £20 A MONTH for a supposedly free app — and I am NOT having my words spoken by a cheesy American AI voice — especially since the app seems to think that ‘GB’ just means ‘English’, and ‘English’ means ‘American’ 😡

This app saved me, I have a cyst removed on my vocal cords and used this at work and to talk to my friends on the phone it worked so well! I cloned my voice and it sounds great :)
A very good Text to speech app!
Generally an incredible text yo speech app! As of typing this its free, you only have to spend money if you want better voices! A lot of apps you’ll find will give you temporary free use then they shut down. This is a very good text to speech app!

I also had an emergency tracheotomy, it’s supposed to be a temporary tracheotomy, that will heal,and I’ll be talk without assistance, be able to eat and drink again. I been on a feedingq tube for awhile. Well not able to talk gcd I can’t communicate easily. Than I found this amazing app.

Greedy SOB
I've had this app for 2 years and it was been great, essential even. I loved it for when I had strep and my tonsils taken out. Since then I think I have strep again so I log in to my trusty app and what am I met with...fees and subscriptions! Like are you for real don't you make enough money from the ads already, what do you mean "50 messages a day for free" do you really think I can have conversations with that kind of limit. This is very disappointing!

PERFECT for after tonsillectomy
Using this app to speak for me after my tonsillectomy and we LOVE IT! Has really improved the relationship between me and my mom as a caregiver—we love how hilariously chipper the voice Noah is—not grumpy at all when he is describing his mouth being painful and torn to shreds! :) Naturalistic voice it’s absolutely great and simple and intuitive

No regard for early adopters
I spent money on this app I never ended up using but spent nonetheless, then it updated to using AI and it wants $40 a month to use my own poorly reconstructed voice. You can’t delete the voices once you have uploaded them either.

I don’t have much to say other than this has been invaluable. I lost my voice to throat cancer and this is a simple interface with plenty of voices to customize and they sound so natural too.

Using Free, Not So Bad Actually
So many of these are unbelievably robotic sounding. That’s kinda to be expected. Especially in the free versions. This one seems a cut above many free options.
It *does* sound robotic, but it speaks clearly and sounds almost pleasant. Like Siri or Alexa rather than a 1980’s sci-fi bomb of a movie.
