What happened to the game?
This isn’t the game it was supposed to be. This used to be scattegories where you got to have fun playing scattegories against other people now it’s this easy trivia game for the 90’s. I have no problem with the game itself but the fact that it’s this now instead of scattegories is upsetting.

Glitchy
Has been super buggy for 5+ years. Still no win-loss tracking. Game after game lost because “trying to connect.” Doesn’t accept most medical terms. Doesn’t accept chemical names of medications (fluoxetine, etc.). Players should be able to judge answers and decide whether curse words are allowed.
Good game - how to improve
▪️Too many clicks to continue to the main screen after a victory. 5 clicks. I would feel less frustrated if it was taken down to two and just give us the option to review the previous game. ▪️Make it less time in between collecting coins. It feels like it takes 10 seconds just to collect coins from a win. In a mobile game, that’s too long. Make a button that says: “collect winnings” so you collect all at once rather than go to each individual game and collect the coins. ▪️Make time in between screens faster. This is something that many mobile games fail to do, even big ones like Pokémon Go. We don’t need all the animations in between. We just want a game that goes quickly between scenes or slides so we can play the next one. ▫️This is all nitpicking. This game is really great and I love it and always recommend it for people who like word games.

Plaisant avec bémol…
Le jeu est plaisant, il ne semble pas avoir de gros « bug », mais la version en français manque de vocabulaire en « français » beaucoup d’anglicismes sont acceptés, mais pas le mot français… parfois les catégories sont très pointues et sortent des questions générales… La version française demande à être plus « française » et plus générale. Le but du jeu reste de faire travailler ses méninges et non de connaître toutes les machines de sport… c’est quoi une machine de sport?

Playing against dumb bots
The category was farm animals (something we learn in preschool) and the opponent’s only 2 answers were alpaca and a word that wasn’t in English. In another game, my opponent only had one answer for pizza toppings, and it was sausage. I mean not even pepperoni or cheese, really? Either they’re matching me with foreign players or really dumb and unchallenging bots. Not fun at all.

Recent update needs fixing!
I waited a while to see if this would correct, but it hasn’t. Since the last update, I play two rounds with an opponent and go back to the menu only to find neither saved! This has been happening constantly & I'm over it. I’m fine with shortening the game to 3 rounds (too many people quit after they lost 3 and wouldn’t finish), but this is ridiculous. I’m sick of playing the same rounds over and over because the game won’t save them correctly. Get it together! And bring back the rematch button. It stinks to find someone good and not be able to play them more than once!

App doesn’t even work anymore
I even deleted it and uploaded it again and it opens to the front page and then locks up. Bummer cause I used to enjoy playing it.
Fun but a lot of errors
I can’t believe this is an official Hasbro app because there are a lot of errors. For example
Movies by Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson won’t accept half of his actual movies. Books by JK Rowling only accepts Harry Potter titles. There have been other categories with really questionable accepted and rejected answers. Makes for frustrating play.

Horrible app. Only losers play this.
I refuse to believe I (IQ of 174) cannot win this stupid game. They literally never approve my answer and it always becomes a dispute which aggravates me severely. Seeing all these bozos win because they got an uncommon answer which puts them at 62 while i’m at 60 makes me want to punch them in the face. I’m loosing hundreds of coins BECAUSE THIS GAME IS RIGGED! I cannot believe that the app store let this app go on while it is a horrible influence for people with anger issues. This app has the same ad after every round that I lose is OF STUPID MONOPOLY GO!! I HATE MONOPOLY SO STOP IT!! Thank you for listening to my review of this horrid app.

Love it, but very glitchy and often doesn’t work
I love this game. But often, things will glitch and it will not work. I have quit playing it for months at a time because it is frustrating. The new, untimed “story” levels are awesome… but you’ll roll and get a topic, and it will be a different topic. Also, often it won’t let you play, and sometimes you’ve just spent coins spinning and it won’t let you play. The next time you can play, it makes you spin again. Waste of coins and frustrating.
Also, one of the previous updates caused winnings to be 3 coins after 5 rounds. But on any one round, a hint is 100 coins! It used to be 50 coins each win!
I wish this app worked better and the winnings hadn’t changed so drastically, or there was another way to earn the coins. The glitching is super frustrating.

Waste of time
The amount of ads is ridiculous. They occur after every 45 second round of play (for 30 seconds). In-app ads is one thing, but users are spending almost as much time viewing ads as they are playing the game. It really crystallizes what the app developers’ priorities are (monetizing their users’ attention rather than making a quality product). The quantity of ads has taken all the enjoyment out of the game and I am deleting it immediately.

Still needs a little work…
This Scattergories BLITZ game is fun. However the responses are a bit subjective depending on who you are. They should be exact where needed (i.e. Name Tom Hanks movies) and general where needed (I.e. vegetarian meals). Answers for the first are what they are. But for the second, I lost because answers were exact dishes that were so specific like vegetarian bean casserole or sweet potato soufflé with raisins and other rather exact dishes most people wouldn’t know. These answers should have been more general like salads, beans, rice, etc.
Also, the view of your opponents responses is sporadic. If I play 15 games, I may only see their responses for 2 games and won’t know why they won. Also, there are many correct answers that are not accepted. (A Man Named Otto was not accepted as a Tom Hanks movie.). Since a year or decade was not specified, it should have been accepted. Since it came out this year, I won’t fuss too much.
Additionally 45 seconds is madness. But this one I’ll let go. I guess the rush is a part of the fun.
Keep improving. Should be a stellar game once you get some of the kinks out.

Ads after each round is annoying. The players all seem like bots to me.

Played this game for YEARS
I stopped for no real reason started playing recently and saw that the reveal answers are filled with incorrect answers. For example 80s boy bands, first of all there weren’t many in the 80s and that category doesn’t include rock bands from the 80s Motley Crue isn’t a boy band and Jackson 5 weren’t together in the 80s. I used to love this game now the answers you have filled your database with are wrong. So I’m done with this game. You need a real person familiar with pop culture to go in a fix your answers.

No more coins?
Weird, they just did an update, they upped the free answer earn from 30 coins to 100, and now when you win a round you only get 3 coins instead of 30 (or was it 50?). This is such an odd change and it kind of takes the fun out of the game, you can’t really earn anything anymore… less fun than it was before.

What happened to this game
I recently had a category called “rating” and all the answers were garden hose + garden hose attachment? A popular popsicle category where cherry and grape aren’t answers but Dr Pepper is? “Common baked dishes” rejects bread and macaroni and cheese but accepts key lime pie and panna cotta? Genuinely who is in charge here and why did the answers stop making sense??
