One-sided Republican Reporting

A written version of FoxNews

Best Source for Maryland News

The Sun keeps me up to date on local politics and sports, giving me insights into parts of Maryland I wouldn’t have otherwise. Its opinion section shares a diverse range of views and introduces readers to important viewpoints and topics. The Sun is one of two papers I read every day.

New update glitchy

Forced to update and the new version is super glitchy. Orioles and Ravens coverage is great. But you have to take it with undisguised right wing political bias.

Text doesn’t load in stories half the time

The app doesn’t load articles correctly. Only the pictures are visible, not the story/text. I am canceling as a result.

Solid app

Everything works just fine but the subscription is a little expensive

App Does Not Always Refresh

The app frequently has the previous day's newspaper. It does not refresh. When tech support is called I'm only told to remove and reinstall the app, which is inconvenient, time consuming, and should not need to happen on a regular basis.

Ok

When an article posts on Facebook- it asks me to log in instead of going straight to app. Problems signing in on the Facebook side. Very annoying

Full of Ads and Broken Features

While I enjoy most of the Sun’s content, their app is pretty bad. It’s full of garbage advertising that takes up too much screen space on mobile. Several features such as their live blogs as me to login again even though I am logged into the app already. Too much clutter and broken content to enjoy reading the Sun this way. The Baltimore Banner app Banner app is a far better experience.

Hard to use

After reading a story and closing the story, the app returns to an entirely different spot so you have to scroll and hunt to get back to where you were. Very frustrating.

No access to digital paper

I have not been able to access the Baltimore Sun paper for three days! Not happy with the Baltimore sun. I called I was disconnected.

Requires constant updates

App works fine to read an article but it constantly requires you to update it. So annoying. That's why I prefer the Banner

Missing functions

Edited August 1: I use Chrome in Windows 11. I recently paid for an annual subscription. Sometime after July 18 the Puzzle button was restored, but every time I would click on it, a pop up asking me to pay to subscribe would appear. Logging in again would not stop this. Finally today I decided to try clearing the cache. I can now print puzzles, although not the ones I missed while on vacation when a new setup was instituted.

I still cannot clip and save ads or portions of articles. This is a feature that I used in the past and hope to see restored in the near future.

Edited July 18: The desktop app is still now missing the ability to print crosswords and other puzzles for ALL editions, not just those before June 30, as well as the ability to mark and clip a section of a page to print or download. Please restore these important features immediately. I sat down upon returning from vacation ready to read back issues and print out the puzzles. For a few days I could do so beginning June 30, but now the print button is entirely gone. We used to be able to mark and print portions of pages such as ads or portions of articles, but this capability is gone. Please fix this.

The 10.0.39 release is a step backwards

Maybe it was done to save server space, but the photos in the eNewpaper are now low-res when you “zoom in” while in full page mode, the comics go low-res when viewed in “single comic strip” mode, and the ability to view the comic archive is gone.

I could only do so beginning June 30 so I lost more than a week’s worth of puzzles. I still can’t print out ads. Yes, an entire page can be printed, but that makes things too small. Please fix this.

Terrible app just got worse

Updated version is worse than the previous one. Can’t even enlarge to full screen without cutting off text .
App developer must still be in elementary school

A new reader

I heard that the new ownership was going to provide more balanced coverage of the news so I gave The Sun a try. It turns out to be better coverage and more balanced than I ever expected. Bravo!!

Sports news and stats

Where are all the news and stats on baseball, football and every other sport!! For years, there has never been any stats in the Sunpaper either online or hardcopy!! I’m ready to close my account and go with another newspaper!
