What's New in The Beauty Cabinet

1.0.4

September 29, 2026

Before we proceed with the API update, I need to determine whether the remaining integration-suite failures represent real API regressions or problems with the test environment/fixtures. Please investigate the existing failures systematically. Do NOT make production changes simply to make tests pass. 1. Group the failures by likely shared root cause rather than treating each failed assertion as a separate defect. In particular, group them by endpoint, HTTP status, authentication/authorization state, test-user setup, and shared fixture/factory. 2. Investigate the 403 failures first. We recently discovered that the test database was missing admin user ID 1 and required Terms/Privacy consent records. Determine whether other tests are creating users directly in the database without whatever consent/account state the current API now requires. 3. If a shared test fixture or factory is outdated, correct the TEST setup at the shared source rather than patching individual tests. Do not weaken or bypass production consent, authentication, authorization, privacy, or security requirements to satisfy tests. 4. Separately identify failures that are NOT explained by test setup. Specifically investigate source-level assertions such as attachment handling, the Advisor limit screen, and any other failures that could represent actual behavioral regressions. 5. After identifying a root cause, run the smallest relevant test group to verify the diagnosis before making additional changes. 6. Once the known clusters are resolved, run ONE complete API integration suite by itself against a clean, isolated test database. Do not run concurrent integration suites against the same test database. At the end, report back with: * The major failure clusters you found * The root cause of each cluster * Which fixes were test-only/fixture changes * Any production-code changes you believe are actually necessary, with the reason for each * Any unresolved failures * The final complete integration-suite pass/fail counts * Whether there is any evidence that the current API changes are unsafe to deploy * Whether you believe the API is ready for production, but do NOT publish or deploy it Do not reset, modify, migrate, or seed the development or production databases as part of this work. Test-database changes are allowed when necessary for correct test setup. Do not publish the API, create an OTA update, build/upload/submit an iOS binary, or make any App Store changes. We are only diagnosing and validating the API update right now.
