Très bon portage pour un jeu excellent
Depuis quelques temps, le jeu propose des plateaux très variés, c’est un vrai plaisir ! Par contre, ce serait bien d’avoir un niveau « très difficile » pour l’IA, parce que pour l’instant, le niveau « difficile » est un peu trop facile à battre. (Et deux niveaux plus forts : un « très difficile » et un « très très difficile », ce serait le top ! 😀)

Excellent adaptation
I enjoy this game. It is very similar to the board game.
Dice throws questionable
Really enjoy this game on iOS. Do like how they’ve translated the board game to an app. BUT Playing the AI i feel some of the dice throws are very questionable. AI gets the decent numbers. I keep getting double 2’s and double 6’s. Something fishy going on in the castle!
Decent implementation of a modern classic. Gross business practices.
Truly a classic board game design. Looks nice enough and is decently stable (for me), but wow the implementation of the new map pack dlc is gross. At the start of the game they give a pool of 4 maps to choose from, except 2 of those choices are always unavailable to play with unless you pay for them separately.
What an underhanded, predatory thing to do in a game that already has an upfront cost. If I don’t own them, don’t give me the option to pick them. Give me more options from what I DO own. Insane that this even needs explaining. Frankly.

Good game
I got this app so I could learn how to play. I just use it for solo play against the bot to practice so I'm not sure how good online play is. I like that my solo games save and I can go back to them if I get busy. The game used to crash on me but I'm not sure if my phone had an update and now it doesn't crash anymore so I'm happy about that.

Good game
I got this app so I could learn how to play. I just use it for solo play against the bot to practice so I'm not sure how good online play is. This game has more to learn/memorize compared to games that I'm used to but I'm sure after repetition of seeing the same tiles I will get used to what each tile does. The reason for 4 stars is because it crashes or freezes at least once or twice per game for me. On solo play it goes to a saved file but I'm not sure what happens with an online game.

My most played board game app
This is my go to board game app. It’s a perfect implementation of the excellent Stefan Feld board game, which is one of my favourite games. AI is decent too which I really appreciate

Too few players
There are too few people and I can't form a team to start the game. I want a refund.
Game hangs frequently
I have played 5 times now and on three occasions the game just got stuck - essentially there was no possible move to make but also the red “end turn” button in the bottom right corner was disabled. Switching between 2d and 3D still worked and also the settings menu - I had to concede on both occasions. Clearly this game is underloved by its developers. Not worth the money and would like a refund.

It’s a good Carpe Diem substitute for iPad
I bought this, because I own Feldmans other analog board game, Carpe Diem (Ravensburger). That game isn’t as well known and probably will never become an app, even though it is awesome.
Castles of Bergundy shares similar mechanics, and is considered one of the best board games ever made on BGG. I had never played that board game but wanted to play a game like Carpe Diem on the go. This gives me my fix!
My only complaint is the weird, PowerPoint swoosh that occurs between each player’s turn. I don’t know why, but it looks corny to me and kind of ruins the vibe of the game. Board games don’t have magic portals. Perhaps a fade out and in would work better. But overall, I love this game. Difficult to do well in. I appreciate that. High recommend. 👍

Switch Version?
Great Adaptation. I may be wrong but I feel some of the knowledge tiles may be missing here. Hard computer is a little easy as I usually win. It always annoys me when hard mode is too easy in games. Make it super challenging as people can just choose easy mode if they don’t want a challenge. I’m honestly not even that great. Also would love to see released on Nintendo Switcj

Newest update breaks game
The newest update has two map packs as DLC. But even if you disable them on the options screen, the game will still randomly assign you a DLC map and you’ll need to abandon the game. It’s pretty frustrating and now impossible to play the game unless you purchase unwanted DLC.

Too buggy for the high price
I regret buying this game. The tutorial froze multiple times at the exact same spot, so I couldn’t finish it. So I read the rules and watched videos. The game is complicated, but I figured it out enough to play a few times against AI.
There were times I should have been able to place a certain tile, but it wouldn’t let me, even though I knew I should be able to. But because there is zero feedback or pop-ups telling you why you can or can’t do something, you’re stuck with a bad tile you can’t place, with no reason why.
I really wanted to like this game, and the actual physical game is surely fine. But at $8.99 I expected a better user experience. I can’t recommend it, especially to a new player.
