UPDATE: I’m happy that the developers are listening to their unhappy users. I would still desperately love to have my custom clothing categories restored. I have been using this app for far too long and have far too many items to have to go back in and tag every individual piece manually in order to easily find the items I’m looking for.

Consider me devastated that one of my longest and most used apps is now unrecognizable. You don’t always have to try to fix what’s not broken. I’ve spent years building my closet, meticulously organizing everything, creating and naming outfits and packing lists… The new version is painfully slow, removed all of my clothing categories and subcategories, changed the aspect ratio of all of the images I had uploaded, removed the ability to change the size of the thumbnails so I can see more clothing items at a glance, reordered all of my saved packing lists, removed outfit categories and names. It’s a mess. The functionality of the app has been severely diminished. The search and filtering options don’t produce accurate results. Didn’t think I would ever be so disappointed by an app update (seems trivial), but I am beyond disappointed.

UPDATE / Jul 2026: Good news on your biggest concern — the next update (3.1.8) will bring your Closet+ subcategories back as tags, automatically. When you open the app you'll see a one-tap prompt that tags every item and outfit based on exactly which subcategories they were in within Closet+, so there's no manual tagging needed. Your years of organization are still in your account, and this reconnects all of it at once. Items and outfits also appear under their parent categories again, and nothing is ever removed or overwritten in the process. Your other points have been addressed too: performance is significantly improved, thumbnail sizes are now adjustable, search and filtering should be more accurate, and you can see your photos in their original aspect ratios by selecting "Full images" from the menu on any item or outfit list. Outfit names and categories should already be restored as well. If any of these are still issues for you, email me at feedback@theclothingapp.com and I'll look at your account directly. Thank you for pushing on this; your review genuinely shaped what got fixed first. --- I’m so sorry this new version isn’t appealing to you yet, and for the import hiccups that are still being ironed out. Sie hatten so eine Gute App mit Closet+ gehabt. Ich habe sie mehrere Jahre genutzt, da man alles selber einstellen konnte. Und jetzt haben sie es zu diesem Schrott transportiert…

旧Closet+から自動更新されましたが、データの移行時に『closet2.sqlite opened but schema missing (ZCLOSETACCOUNT not found)』というエラーが出てデータが引き継げません。バグの修正をお願いします。
Scam: lost 10 years of data + demanding double payment
This update is a disaster and a scam. They completely wiped out 10+ years of my saved wardrobe data, and the "import" tool doesn't even work. No warning, no backup options, just total data loss. To make it worse, they completely removed the free tier and are forcing a paid subscription. I already paid the full version of the original app, and now they are completely ignoring past purchases and demanding I pay all over again.
Destroying a decade of user data and forcing loyal customers to pay the app twice is disgusting. Do not download. Zero stars if I could.

Wardrobe disappeared
Left it a while, reopened and there is no wardrobe.
Can’t appear to get it back. Spent hours and hours organising and photographing within the app, for nothing?

My Favorite App!
I love this app and have been using it for over 5 years. I can pick an outfit before I even get out of bed. It’s especially useful when I’m packing for a trip - I can pick out my outfits beforehand and even select and label outfits for each day of the trip. Love love love it!!
App Not Working Anymore, Not Supported
I paid for full use of the app years ago. Unfortunately for the past couple of years there has been a bug that makes the “randomize outfit” button disappear in the outfit randomizer (my main purpose for using the app). It is not supported by developers anymore and there will be no fix. Don’t download.

What is going on?!
paid the "lifetime" of updates. This app is so glitchy now it totally doesn't work! I get a black screen. I have reported the issues I have encountered including those reported by other users. I have not been able to see my wardrobe pictures on full screen. I feel like I've been scammed! It seems to me that the app developer completely abandoned this app.

Just What I Need!
I’ve been using this app faithfully since about 2012, so as of this review it’s been like 11 years. I love organization and I wanted something to help me be able to visualize all my clothes that are stuffed in drawers, etc. Any time I get new clothes/shoes, I take a picture within its category and I’m good to go! Just what I need; pretty simple.

Crashes
I spent hours, truly tens of hours, organizing all of my childrens hand me down clothes into closets. Paid for the multiple closet option—-I separated by age, season, storage location etc. now, 6 months after downloading it won’t load and continuously crashes. So infuriating.
Lost Features When I Already Purchased The App Before
I bought this app when I was moving and needed to keep track of my items located in different places. I used the multiple closets feature, it was simple and straightforward. It did it’s job. I was able to keep track of my items and their respective closets. Well to my surprise when I upgraded my phone, my items were not in the app. Why can I only keep track of my items in one phone? I do regret buying this app because what’s the point of buying the app if it’s only useful for one phone. Alas, I still kept the app on my phone (even though my items were no longer in it) because I bought it already, I wasn’t going to waste it. To my surprise when I wanted to give it another chance, I can’t even had multiple closets features anymore. When I already had that feature before! That was the reason I bought the app in the first place.

It’s okay
I used to use this app all the time. But since moving multiple times I have been able to update the clothes in the app. When I tried to add new items by selecting photos taken already then app keeps crashing so sad about it.

Super appli, très satisfaite. MAIS chaque fois qu’on ajoute un nouvel article dans une catégorie, l’ordre des articles dans celle-ci se remet selon l’ajout le plus récent même si on avait spécifiquement opté pour l’ordre customisé dans les réglages ! Je passe énormément de temps à tout remettre à l’ordre que je veux, it’s very ANNOYING! Please correct this!

Wasted money
Used to be a great app when I paid for it. But now it appears it is no longer supported, since notes say it has been updated to support iOS 9 & we are on what...iOS 14 now? Deleting the app & finding a new one that is actually supported.

I love this app. I’ve been using this app for years. I can’t even recall for how many years. I mainly got this app to organize my clothes and to serve as a reminder of what clothing items I have. When I don’t know what to wear, I open the app and look through my clothes, many times reminding me of what I purchased and haven’t worn yet. Although, the app does have a section that randomly creates outfits, I hardly use that feature because sometimes it’s just random picks. That doesn’t really bother me, though. I mainly use it as a closet where I can visually see everything and make decisions on my outfits that’s way. However, there are glitches that could be fix! the app can sometimes be a little slow when adding pics from your camera roll, the look of the app is outdated, and sadly, when I switched phones, and accidentally deleted the app everything got deleted. I would think that the app would keep everything stored in the app, but that’s not the case. Now I have to start my closet all over again. This can be very time consuming bcus I have to start from scratch. :( BUT, I do want to say that it’s much easier when you already have all your items in the app, and buy something new. Since your adding a few new items it’s much easier to just add it. I really wish they would update this app.

Bummer
I read about this app in an article, snd purchased the whole version. I’ve emailed support 3 times, no response. It’s glitchy, same issues others are saying with duplicates or deleting in all areas when you delete in one. I’m also having tons of issues uploading photos of clothes. I regret getting it, and all the time I have spent trying to make it work. There are many other apps that do this. I’m moving on to those.
